Great video. Simple and straight to the point. I plan on doing this and using bubble wrap envelope mailers because they weigh less than boxes and take less room. So they should be cheaper. Hello! I learned from JS about the golden principle of not selling stuff that are too cheap due to the shipping cost. Do you have any recommendation if I like to sell really innovative things but only worth a few dollar? I have a full time job and can't handle fulfillment myself.
Amazon fulfillment. Just make sure your competitive in the market. They will fulfill the items so you don’t have to do that. Just make sure it’s profitable and worth your time. Not all items are.

Can you ship to the client without buying shipping and paying for an amazon label? How do I mark it as shipped if I just write the address on the envelope and buy a stamp?
I believe Amazon requires you to provide tracking. You can buy your label thru any shipping service weather it’s USPS, UPS, fedex, or DHL. I believe there are a few others but those are the big ones. Amazon does allow you to buy directly thru amazons postal portal but it’s not required.
Thanks, and I enjoyed your presentation, but I have a question on your triggers. On each trigger, you set your minimum “Rank” to 1. If I look at the manual on the Scoutly site, in each trigger, the minimum “Ranks” are all much greater than 1. Same is true with other RU-vidrs that discuss how to set triggers. Why did you choose to use 1 in the minimum Rank column? Thanks again
I love this question, it shows some critical thinking, or at least questioning. I could be completely wrong about this assumption but I have experienced problems in the past. In rare cases, you could have an item that meets one of the criteria such as days of sale, but it falls under a different trigger for rank. When I choose to elect a larger number such as 1-500k and then have days of sale be my specific number such as 50-80. As long as the days of sale is in that rank range it will trigger that days of sale trigger. Does that make sense? I have had rare occasions where a book will not trigger even though days of sales was good but rank was slightly outside of the trigger parameter causing the app to push it to the next trigger. And I would get a reject when it was supposed to display buy. It’s rare, but that was my solution. I base everything off of days of sales. Then the sales rank is like a backup in case that data is missing.
@@TaltonRoberson Thanks Talton, makes perfect sense. As a newbie trying to understand the triggers for the 1st time, that is exactly the same logic that I was thinking through but couldn't figure out why the Scoutly default and others would want a more restrictive rank. The rank range is subject to more unknown variables, such as how many books are available and/or sold at any given time and will move around. But "Sales Count" (days of sale), well now, that is a known data point. A sure thing if you will. I like your approach and plan to go with that on setting the rank in my triggers. @danmarkiewicz3697 no problem! Love this kind of feedback. Definitely more of an analytical approach but like you said, days of sale is more of a sure thing with rank varying so much. It almost doesn’t make sense to consider rank as long as you have days of sales.
@TaltonRoberson More food 4 thought (sorry to repeat if you already know this). It seems logical to order the active triggers in ascending order (1 through 10) as shown in the video if you want to know the sales score and rank as your first decision point. However, my first decision point is to the find highest profit that triggers a “Success” for a given book. Using the triggers in the video, I’ve reversed their order into descending so 10 replaces 1, 9 replaces 2, and so on. I left all the individual trigger settings the same. Here’s why and what I found: Say you leave the trigger order ascending as shown and you scan a book, that book may very well be able to satisfy multiple triggers if given the chance. The sequencing of the check points begins with trigger 1, then 2 and so on. However, the app algorithm stops looking for other matches upon the 1st time it hits a “success”. The app then ignores any remaining triggers, which presumably have higher “Target Profits”. If you reverse the order of your triggers so those with the higher “Target Profit” comes before those with a lower “Target Profit”, when the app hits on “Success” it will then indicate the maximum, based on the trigger, that you can expect to make and then ignores those that follow having the lower “Target Profit” triggers. You can easily try this yourself simply changing “Target Profit” on a couple of triggers that a book would happen to match up with the other rank and sales scores. Hope this is clear and helps.
@@danmarkiewicz3697 I understand the logic. The profit is the key trigger for all triggers. Without profit no triggers will actually be triggered. When it comes to triggering profit, I like to try to trigger faster moving books first for smaller profits because the speed of the sale, or days of sale is what I’m using to determine how much profit I want it to trigger for. No matter the order, if the profit is met or exceeds the value for that trigger, it will display a success. Because profit doesn’t have a range of values like sales rank or sales count, it will trigger anytime the minimum profit is met based on the trigger and it’s settings. When you reverse the order, you essentially only change the way it triggers. From slowest and most profitable to fastest and least profitable. Either way the results will be the same. But I like the extra thought!
If you are printing your label with a regular printer like an inkjet, yes! I just prefer actual label paper so you don’t have to spend a ton of time taping your label to the box.
You might need to change you name in the settings. As for address you can get a PO Box. They will give you a street address. And use that for Amazon or anywhere else you choose to sell. Hope that help.
I’m selling items on Amazon with no issue, my only issue is I sell my product 7.95 and when I go to ship it it cost me 12.95 to ship is there a better way to ship?
I feel like this is a lot better for bins where speed is essential to cover more ground of books before other sellers do. You can use both hands to sort books into stacks instead of holding scanner in one hand and only having the other to stack.

Put it all in a box and send it in like any other set I covered. Double box, put your fnsku sticker on the outside of the inside box and make sure to use “don’t separate stickers”. If it’s over 50 lbs just make sure to add team lift stickers, and that’s the only unit in the box.

And do they get picked up by the Amazon partnered couriers? And what if our suppliers offer free shipping, what steps do we need to go through. Thank you so much.

Yes! While there are many marketplaces within Europe, Scoutly has the ability to compare to the uk, Germany and France marketplaces. I’m unsure about scoutiq as of this moment
With the increasing use of Scoutly, it would be great if you could do an updated Trigger video. Even though the changes may be minimal, I think an updated date on the video will draw more viewers. With videos that provide settings for sourcing, I tend to pick those that are within a year or two and skip the rest as there are so many now. With your degree in math, it adds to the credibility and value of your tutorial videos. Thanks for providing a great resource!
