We are invading a desert planet where the temperature is extremely hot. Let's force our infantry to wear heavy, black body armor -- because it looks so bad-ass.
It was actually Strasser that made the pitch and closed the deal, not Vaccaro. Strasser fell out with Knight and he and Peter Moore defected to Addidas. Strasser even went as far as insisting on moving Addidas N America HQ from the East Coast to Portland OR to stick it to Knight even more. I guess they didn't want to give Strasser the glory and credit so they rearranged the facts.
4 Billion a year for Nike from one shoe...now you know why they are so bothered by the Lebron vs Jordan debate. Lebron is better, but they will never admit it.
''Everyone at this table will be forgotten as soon as our time here is up except for you. You're going to be remembered forever. '' 100% true. The legacy never dies

I honestly get tired of hearing this argument about Paul being “the bad guy.” Paul manipulated the false religion implanted by the Bene Gesserit, and ironically turned it into a reality, which is the beauty of the writing. The “Lisan Al Gaib” was only meant to be a way for the empire to keep the Fremen in check. They were never going to bring a “green paradise” to Dune. They’d never give up the spice. And yet Paul turns the entire thing on its head and makes it a reality; he fulfills all the prophecies, is true to his word, and genuinely cares for the Fremen people. And as for it being a cautionary tale against religious fanaticism, Dune is a very interesting universe to create in order to make such a point. *What the hell is the alternative?!* Everything sucks! The Empire and Harkonnen are filthy oppressive psychopaths 😂 literally everything sucks. How can you call it a cautionary tale when Paul is quite literally a product of his environment? He begged and pleaded with everyone to not make him go south. And everyone wanted him to go south. So he goes south, drinks magic death juice and now can see out of all the possible futures, the only one that works is where he takes up the mantle of Lisan Al Gaib? I’ll take the false hope, because it’s still hope in a universe as dark as Dune’s. And I mean, if you need to blame somebody for most of this, you can probably blame Paul’s mother for the most part 🤣 if there was any hope of Paul being able to unite the Fremen another way, that disappeared when his mother became Reverend Mother and started preaching to them. They were waiting for him as their Messiah before he ever even had a chance to come to them as Paul.
in the noble hierarchy the baron is the lowest level, he counts for nothing, he is like the mayor of a small country town. it is obvious that in an Empire of trillions of subjects he has an important role, but in any case the fact that the Emperors never promoted the Harkonnnen house to something superior demonstrates its historical insignificance.
