The battle combat is so good, even my neighbours hear it. Thanks for the video, I love these type of video where the music in games is "dissected" and analyzed.
0:53 Not gonna lie, I thought you were making a silly joke about Xion’s theme being just called “Xion’s Theme” or something simple, but no. Jokes on me finding out that’s actually the name of Xion’s theme.
Though “Gel Bwuja” was a REALLY stupid name at first but now that I’ve played the game and heard the soundtrack while playing I can confirm that “bwuja bwuja bwuja” is accurate
I knew there was something special at the music on the first destination. I just didn’t have the right way to express it. I’m glad someone else knew what they were talking about. Also fairly obvious symbolism, but going from a physical destruction to fire preservation, has always struck a part of my brain that simply enjoys that type of mechanics telling the story.
Should have commented months ago but the Memoria version of Vector to the Heavens is one of the most perfect achievements in video game music and music utilizing classical structure and orchestration as a whole. More generally, I think the harmonic language and voice leading utilized by Yoko Shimomura and those who arranged her work put Xion's theme(s) a step above many other works that share the components you mentioned around the 10:00 mark. In short, while I think you're right about everything you say about the piece in this video, I think there is a certain magic in the intervals Shimomura chose that go beyond memorability or the other things that give music a "sad" character or tonality, even though I'm not quite knowledgeable enough to explain it.
official titles that ive found More Cowbell -> 19% (Tuning Test Trailer) Catch Me If You Can -> 79% (Amplifying Test Trailer) (yes there's also 39% which is Equalizing Test Trailer, and there's also 99% aswell, which is the current website BGM, i cant find where they used it in video though) Quackjacker (Intro) -> Chaos Alpha, Chaos Beta (its a mix) Quackjacker (Climax) -> Four Armed Sword Gel Bwuja -> Derailed Order
Funnily Enough The story was indeed Heartwarming and Uplifting That was the the plot twist all along The real Penacony was the friends we made along the way (like literally) We got a fucking ship hell yeah
There is a song missing on the bangblues music player in the room. I have no idea what the song is called but its plays during the battle stages. Can't ffind the song anywhere even online. I might just post a video of the song playing while i was battling and see if anyone can find the song.
I love the qualtiy and effort you put into making this video. I dont under as much but your passion in the analysis is what compels me too keep watching it. And also, I love this piece. This moment in the game will never leave me.
I honestly didn't expect to enjoy a video about composition as much as I did. Was here for the KH and stayed for the humor. Totally unrelated - 20:22 I just noticed that they put a hidden Mickey symbol in the misty light show here with the primary light ring as the head... I know the franchise puts it everywhere, but never saw this one despite watching the scene many times over the years.
I really love these 5:10 sounds in music. I first encountered it with Tokyo Jungle and ever since I wish it was used more. Thankfully it's used in HSR Bronya's ult (perhaps last of us?) and now ZZZ!
Im going to have to ask for that platinum Fallen Elmaik with a huge pepe and incrusted diamonds back, the one I awarded you for outstanding achievement in the field of musical excellence last year. That award seems insufficient due to the sheer magnificence of this masterpiece. I shall have more jewels and precious metals added, forgive me.
Okay, I never linked the Organisation with clowns like ever before, but they are kinda like jesters or tricksters. I think people take the Org too seriously most of the time, even I get caught up in the depths of their tragedy and their thematic link to depression and depersonalization and often forget how big a goofball they can all be. People always take their talking in riddles and messing with Sora shtick at face value and think they're being ernest but their not, they're just having fun. Even Xemnas is pretty much presented as an absolute fool by the end of the game.
reminds me a lot of Bejeweled soundtrack! Absolutely astonishing, just the track that you use to challenge your imagination while thinking about distant galaxies and lands...
About Clowns. In Genshin Impact one of the major big bad organizations, fatui harbingers, which has roughly the same number of members as Organization 13 have code names from Comedia del'arte which has a number of clowns in it. You could perhaps assign the character tropes that have evolved from the comedia delarte to organization 13 as well. Such as the Harlequinn betraying the master of the house and running off with the damsel. However I haven't played all the KH games. I just associated the fatui harbingers with their Tsaritsa and Organization 13 to jrpgs and their "evil jesus and apostles"
