I really hope there is an update of this power train and drive train systems into an updated XPedition. Do that and add a front suspension fork + turn signals and I would buy it the day it got announced! It would raise the price for sure but it would definitely be worth it in my mind.

I did see the step through version of the rev+ can have a minimum height of 5' and that this version is actually 5'2" - wonder if you could speak to the accuracy of the minimum heights? Do you have a preference over the bar or the step through? Also- appears you can put passenger pegs and two smaller people could fit if under weight capacity.

What I'm looking for is the least amount of moving parts plus customer support. That makes Rad my choice from these three. Don't need the gears. Can get one of their dealers to assemble it for me and keep it maintained. That being said I'm really interested in the upcoming Liberty Trike with 20" wheels. Has mag wheels, is single speed, and can completely incomplete it into two pieces which makes it a lot lighter for transport. Waiting for reviews on it. Just need a grocery getter in a fairly level town.

Edit: Rad is running a Memorial Day sale with $350 off and free battery. Wait for the sale to go live if you want one. I like this bike a lot especially the new handle bars, but it got beat handily by the Sinch.2 on the climb test, and the Sinch costs less and comes with a free battery making the Expand a poor value. IMHO the Expand needs a styling refresh with an integrated battery. I realize Rad is sticking with its signature minimalist styling, but it’s getting old.

I was gifted this bike from a friend. It's very solid, and have taken it offroad somewhat and even through some light mountainbiking, and it holds up through it. The phone holder did break pretty quickly for me as well. I'm curious if the 7s is better with the front fork but has a smaller battery. It's great for climbing hills, as I can drop it down to second or third gear, and still keep it in tour mode and make it up hills. My girlfriend has a single speed belt drive bike, and she is forced to push her battery entirely, and wastes a lot more power than I do going up hills. My paint got scratched easily as I have a red glosd candy paint and it has gotten kind of beat up and scratched. It is my first e bike but I am happy because I can gun down and hill and the heft of the bike and balance makes me feel safe and confident doing so. If you keep it lubed up it will stay a smooth ride. I went out in a rainstorm recently and I didnt have lube with me and I was afraid that I had broken the bike from the sound the gears were making on the chain. Fresh lub resolved this issue. Also, the brakes are stellar, and if you pump it or stand up on the pedals to get some speed the think takes off like a cybertruck. I also ride it with a single ortieleb pannier and it doesnt throw off my balance at all. I am planning on going on a 3 month rv trip and puting the bikes on the back of the rv (with many locks) and using it as a way to go on adventures without bringing a car. I really only put it on turbo mode when I am going on insane hills, feel like flying as fast as possible, or when I turn back home knowing that my distance is shorter than the longest range estimate and I am tired. The other day I was riding and an old knee injury started to bear its nasty head. I was about 10 miles away and and flipped around and put it on turbo and road lightly and got home without feeling crippled or stranded. I even used my right leg for more power strokes and eased off on my left knee and there really wasn't any issue. I'd recommend getting a decent 3rd party phone mount. I gaven't really used the cobi app but I'm excited to do so. I did update the bike firmware through the cobi app recently through bluetooth, which was really neat.

How is it on hills with a dead battery / no PAS? Is it realistic to believe it can be used as "just a bike" when the battery runs down, or is it just too heavy?

From my research, a bike for seniors needs a very low step-thru. I know my wife needs a low step-thru. Your choice does not appear to have a low step-thru. I think this needs to be considered for future choices for seniors. Thanks.

Best fat tire for a 6’7” rider?

Loving the review format. Great job guys. Could you review some smart bike helmets. I'd like to hear your opinions on some different smart helmets. My wife and I use sena R1. Mostly for the intercom feature. Easily can hear each other and has decent distance. Are there better options out there? I want to see a review from real bike people like you.

Ride 1 up really needs an alloy version of this model because it's beautiful, but I don't need Carbon or have $2,300.

I've developed a medical problem and I can't drive for a while and I may choose to just not, it was scary. So I really NEED an e-bike to get to work and stuff. There are just SO MANY options and a lot of Chinese junk. Your reviews are amazing, I bought this bike yesterday because of your reviews. One thing I could suggest? Bike weight and wheel base specs versus public transport limits. It took me a while along with your reviews to find one that complies with Oregon's. Its like this bike was built considering the regulations because the wheel base was right at the limit and the weight without the battery was right at the limit. There were a lot of great bikes including Ride1UP's but almost all were too heavy or too large wheel base.

Wish. I could get the one I have ordered. Wasto ship on Mayv20, now it got pished out to June 17. This was ordered 6 weeks ago. This sucks.

Positives…front shock, new battery location, turn signals, hydraulic brakes. Negatives…smaller wheels, hard to remove battery, torque sensor. A torque sensor vs the RW4 cadence sensor is a step backwards for a cargo bike. Hard pass!
