Thanks for uploading! I look forward to your continued series! Would you be comfortable if we were to make guesses in the comments about the "secret" (5:37) as to what we think its function is?
As far as I'm aware (and please correct me, anyone, if im wrong)... But the Admit Valves are just the valves that allow steam access or a clear path to the electric turbines where the Bypass Valves make the Steam go around the turbine and straight to the condenser. Hope this helps and correct haha 😇✌️
@@ShArPy1o1Games sharpy if this is the case it just reduces the ammount of steam that is allowed to the turbines so the rest of the steam is keeped inside the primary loop increasing the pressure.
Nice you have loop 2 running. Next 10 episodes, getting a bigger resister bank and get loop 1 up and running? Also i noticed that over the past 10 episodes you needed to pull the rods more and more and was even forced to filter out some of the boric acid in order to keep the reactivity around 10. Does that mean that at a certain point you will get to the point that the rods are fully pulled out and all the boric acid is filtered out and still the reactivity won't hit 10 anymore?
Yeah that's when the fuel will be depleted and needing to be swapped with the spare you start your game with (should be after about 10-14 in game days...) I've also done what you say due to the fact that I have 2 loops running now BUT..... I have noticed that we started at 65% (Primary coolant circuit) on Loop 03 then balanced both loops to 20% at the end yet I'm using more fuel... I'm thinking there may be a bug somewhere with that as I noticed the reactivity goes up when dropping 1 loop while evening it out with the other 🤔🤯👌
@@ShArPy1o1Games Euh not sure if that's a bug in the game. It's what a real reactor would do. You see, the decay process of uranium will always try to heat until it can heat no more. The more heat you take away from this process the faster the uranium decays.
@@ShArPy1o1Games Well you said running 2 loops at 20% gives you less efficiency then running 1 loop at 60%. I said that's expected, you're taking away more heat with 2 loops at 20 then with 1 loop at 60. Thus less efficient.
Can't wait to see you running with 2 Cycles ;-) I started a new Game on Normal and extreme demand (+25%). It's good playable. But in the high demand Event they want over 45MW xD
Ep10 is when we will be bringing loop 02 online with a sneak preview of the new experimental "Testing Area"... The +25% demand has been an interesting experience so far and different from previous playthroughs 🤔🤓👌
The fact you STILL have to download a fkn mod to project more than one piston or rotor in 2024 is. !@#$ing sad on keens part. The !@#$ do they do with all the money they get selling the DLC!?
100% agree... it should be in the base game already but at the same time SE steals ideas from others (like from mods) to put into the game so it's nothing new here 🤯😇
Sharpy!!! about the thermal Efficiency you went from 10 to 8 because in order to decrese the energy you increased the Bypass so you are over poducing compared to your actual request. If you want that number to be maximum no bypass or resistances use!
@@ShArPy1o1Games try to run your Facility with only 220°C Main Core Themperature. I testet IT out and it makes no difference to run with 500°C or only 300°C. The Energy production stay the same
Interesting to know as I've recently had to bring the core temp back to 360 celcuis as it now states that's the operating range when right clicking on the temp gauge itself 🤪🤯 I think it was a typo and should have always been at 360
@@ShArPy1o1Games yeah, i'm with you. In some Update he wrote 306 as 360°C Operation Themperature. I also run with 360°C from earlyer Versions. In my last Nucleares Livestream i tryed to trigger an Core meltdown and run over 600°C and i didn't get any more Energy from this high Themperature. 3 Cycles at 10% Primary Speed
Yeah the higher temp doesn't do much overall... maybe a bit more wear on stuff around the plant like the generators etc. pretty easy overall and i know that the Meltdown doesn't work atm (try destroying the control rods with the crane)
first! really love this play threw, I am doing my own play threw and following along, your videos have really helped me in stabilizing the core with the chemicals turned on.
Not a bad idea. though my suggestion would be, when your space platform comes under attack, have it trigger some fighters to be launched, to attack any enemies that are in range or opening fire. That way you can get your defenses online and firing.
Brilliant idea... it's just weird how the gravity is working with me in terms of Defences as that was not expected at all haha. Something simple or some ultimate Drone?
btw thats what the extreme energy demand profile means, it basically means erratic demand spikes. that is why your recieving an extra 25% bonus, i noticed on your first episode you incorrectly described demand profile.
I knew what it meant when I started but had forgotten with everything until a later point lol... I just wasn't expecting a 50% drop etc but has been fun all the same Cheers for the watch and comment... P.S. Ep07 releases in less than 2 mins 🤔😇✌️
Yeah, even the more recent update yesterday with the caps, etc... It looks soo cool, and I can't wait to test it when it's operational... There's no point showing it on YT too much yet, till then
Yeah but needs to be balanced first to make sure a full playthrough is possible... then the extremest of difficulties can come... can't wait for that tbh haha
Next episode you start up loop 2? Ohw wait you need to install another transformer first or you will overcharged this one. Unless you shut down loop 3 for maintenance. That's how i would run the game. Always one loop down for maintenance and either one or two loops running.
I'm just glad there wasn't another floor I had to go down or it would be as you said hahaha... I thought it was Murphy's Law getting me the last time I tried them so I tried not to say anything but I still lost health all the same haha... might be a weird bug? 🤣🤯🤔
It cost about 4 mil to completely upgrade your plant. I'm having trouble getting my core stable with all 3 loops running though. By the time everything's up and running, I've lost the iodine fight. I guess I need to warm up the core faster with all that heat being pulled out.
The best and most stable way to operate is from the fastest of Reactor start ups possible pretty much... just the coding works better. Also due to IRL Xenon breaks down mostly from that actual reactivity and heat of the Reactor... the Iodine isn't all that bad as it's slightly reactive itself I've heard after day 8 then chemicals become quite troublesome so I'm looking forward to next week with repairs and such
I am looking forward to how you manage more reactor poison. I am on day 8 of my play through and can only run my reactor for maybe 3-4 hours before poison takes over and kills my reactor. Maybe I need a new fuel core, not sure but its a pain in the a$$
Might be time to shut down and wait the 60hrs for the xenon to half-life out of the core... or better yet, dump the inner core vessel water then refill back up to 116,500L as it starts with that in a new save (please double check my numbers as im not 100%) ✌️😎
I'm not sure how your video ended up in my feed as YT recommendations are often all over the map, but you got me to look into this game. I'm impressed - someone did their research and made a playable reactor game with a surprising amount of detail. Now I'm curious how the rest of the season turns out once you get that second coolant/power conversion train built out and operating ("Wait, is he trying to put a coolant pump where the turbine should go...?").
Many parts of the game gets updated frequently even though it's all done by a Solo Dev... but overall there is so much thought put into this game with much more to come 🤯😇 Glad you found my channel and are enjoying the season ✌️😎
Finally picked up the game for myself today, i knew about it for a couple months but watching your videos after i discovered you a couple days ago made me buy it. Your videos have been a real help so far understanding how to work the plant. Though in my first 60 mins of stuffing about and finding out i blew the turbine, almost cooked the reactor trying to stop the chaos. Then cause the reactor panel stopped working i wandered to the fuse behind the control panel and touched it before isolating it. Definitely learnt a thing that hour 😂
Haha yes... especially learning only once when touching a live fuse and having to restart is a fun time... haha good times That's how I learnt also, pushing buttons and seeing what it does 🤯🤣👌 Glad you got the game and are trying it yourself as I'm sure you will have fun... Might be an idea to look around outside for the unseen "Testing Area" ✌️ (Discord may help further if u find it)
G'day... Cheers for the comment as always, I can't wait for next week where I may show off a new "Testing Area" within Nuckeares, showing inside looks to a new 'reactor'
Hi sharpy great episode again! the only 2 things i perhaps i would do different are: 1) if the reactivity is 10 and the temperature is stable near 310 i would not touch the position of moderator control rods, let it be till you really need to squeeze the reactor to work near the full capacity. Those variables once you have a stable reaction should not touched costantly 2) the condenser Temperature should be higher i like 85/90° in order to do not waste energy in the recooling of the condensed water. I guess the condenser ar 4/5 at maximum is the value needed. I totally agree with you that a monitor of time vs values of chemical would be neccesary, i still have a lot of truble to interact with the poison reaction.
Thanks heaps for all the tips... I think I'm so touchy on the controls cause there wasn't much else to do haha... Also the condenser can definitely gain more temp for more efficiency 😎👌
All last Updates are compatible with older Savegames. So the developer write it in the Changelog. See i wright, that you try to build an Circulation Pump on the Generator Slot? You only need 2 Circulationpumps for 1 extra Loop. one Steam Generator and one Steam Turbine.
@@ShArPy1o1Games Yah, i thought it too and ruined my Savegame with trying. But i tryed it again and it works ;-) Ah and i promised that you continue playing Nucleares. Got a few tipps from your Gameplay. But can you tell me why you operate with so less Water from the secondary Loop in your Steam Generator? The Middle of the green Zone is around 3.000ltrs.?
Honestly I don't know why I like to keep my Steam Generators in the yellow or around the 1800L mark is I think just from habit as even if there was an update that increased the repair etc. then it's quite easy to shut down and repair as money isn't hard to come by. I think its just my preference 🤯🤣✌️
Also when it's kept around 1800L, it means there can be more room for steam and less taken up by the water/coolant itself... Just remembered why I originally did this to begin with haha ✌️ (Hope this makes sense 🤣)
@@ShArPy1o1Games the Steam hast to go to the Turbine. Not leave it in the Steam Generator xD I dont think that the wear of the Steam Generator increases when its in the Green insted the yellow. Ah whatever, seems like it works fine xD
@@ShArPy1o1Games Actually the first thing i would buy is the full set of resisters. That way i can run the loops at 49% all the time instead of constantly having to adjust to the demand. This way the entire system would practically run itself and you only need to adjust to the fission products.
I would normally agree 100% but since I have the Extreme Difficulty with the extra 25% Demand difference, it's shown that I needed to buy a new Transformer instead 👌 Thanks heaps for the comment and suggestion 😎
FYI... There are only 2 Pumps needed to complete the entire Loop 02's Installation... I had a spaced out moment and could have sworn there was 3 needed at some point? 🤔
I don't know if it is implemented correctly but IRL the isotopes don't start decaying after a set time. It's only their half life so you would start to see some decay almost immediately and it would fizzle out over a long time. There is nothing special happening at the moment the half life is reached. But I'll have to test that
Yes you need to create the water and spawn it in at the correct radius... Spawn your character into your new world with water mod installed and type below into the games chat (Enter)... (bin a while since i used, might be good to double check on the water mods steam workshop.) /wcreate /wradius [1.027]
I have a question regarding those occasional events during which the energy demands are massive. How exactly do I set everything up to get as much energy as possible? I know that bringing up the secondary circuit coolant flow speed is an important step, as well as ensuring the turbine bypass valves are fully closed, and the turbine admit valves are fully open. What else can I do to increase my power output? Probably turning on my generators to decrease the plant's own demand. Is there anything else you could suggest?
Turning you internal generators on will only supply you with power and won't decrease the plants demand unfortunately as they don't exactly work that way... Only thing I can think of is by letting your condenser get to about 90 Celcius (no more than 100!!!) as it will allow your steam generators to turn it back into steam easier (secondary coolant system)
Do some testing... save the game and try something... if it doesn't work then reload the save and try again? It's how I learnt this game without any type of tutorial (there were no tutorials back in the day for this game)
Make sure the condenser water temp is at least 80c and the steam generator is at least 60 psi. Primary loop increase to get a maximum power for the day and then reduce with bypass as demand changes.
Haven't heard of that 1 tbh... I can only guess that your not overusing your fuel, as well as a nice stable output of power without burning too much excess energy in your resistors? 🤔
@@ShArPy1o1Gamesyeah it is on the panel with the power factor number display. I haven't played in 6 months so a lot of changes I gotta get used to. I'll have to play around with it tomorrow.
Let me know how you go as if it is the screen I'm thinking of, then I need a hand u derstanding it too haha... but I will eventually get to learning it haha
So this morning the highest I could get the gauge on a new save is about 17.5% with all pumps maxed, about 21000 in the condenser and 98.3 on the rods. If I turned it to maximal mode and brought the core up to 360 it actually dropped down to about 15%. It now seems like this has been put into place to show just how more efficient any upgrades make the plant. All this was done without using the chemical system because I need to go and actually turn that stuff on. As an engineer by trade I'm very curious so I'll give it another go later.
Thanks for the update and info/Test... interesting to hear as I've just noticed the same and it fluctuates quite frequently during normal operations... interesting on your thoughts in terms of the upgrades making a difference 🤔 Ps. Ep03 releases in less than 10 mins BTW haha
@@ShArPy1o1Games Ohhh that makes sense, ha. Thanks for posting all these videos! I tried this game a while ago, had some fun, and set it back down until it got further into development. Maybe it’s time for me to try it again!
Cheers... I've been wanting to do this for a while but with so many update being released, it breaks the game from 1 game save to another sometimes... so hopefully I can record as much as possible before an update breaks the game again haha
@@ShArPy1o1Games The only thing i would like them to add is a separate condenser for every loop. That way each loop is a system of its own and gives you the ability to shut one down for maintenance while the others are still running.
I think that a really cool feature would be letting AO control the electrical side of things for a ridiculously high cost of pristige points. Or maybe a control panel upgrade system. Real plants actually do automatically adjust these parameters.. technicians generally monitor them and make the appropriate adjustments when neccessary.
Right, having AO control everything doesn’t make much sense. 😭😂 However, I still think that control room/control panel upgrades or both would be an awesome way to spend prestige points. AO might be overkill, so maybe it could be integrated into the plant as part of the system rather than a separate entity (like a floating robot). This could add more layers that lead to automation, allowing the player to focus on maintenance and other tasks. Maintenance tasks could then be manual, with a new communications device/equipment taking over for operations and upgrades. I understand that this game was built by one person, which is absolutely incredible!
If you cool off your condenser water too much, the steam generator has to work harder to increase the water temperature again before it turns to steam.
