Terrell only caught the end of Bird's career. Larry was doing everything by then with guile as his body was breaking down. He was a better athlete than given credit for in the early years. I think he liked that "slow White guy that can't jump" persona and used it to his advantage.
Watched Tracy play with the Raptors back in 95-96. I was a young boy then and it seemed everything I saw I totally absorbed in my psyche, especially the Raptors. I loved Tracy's game. I often think about that first year and how good Tracy was. I will always remember.
I love the honesty from Mashburn.. I have such deep respect for these retired players speaking (totally) frank-ly about their what happened and who looked great
Crazy to think that this series might've been the momentum those Blazers teams needed to beat LA in 2000 & go to the finals. I think if it wasn't for the moment Blazers beat NY & Indy. They could've had 2 back to back titles before Shaq, Duncan, Admiral, and Kobe won their first rings !!
Pat Riley once said if the game was on the line he would like Michael Jordan to take the shot;but if his life was on the line he would like Larry Bird to take the shot.
What game was this ?? I"m gonnna youtube the last shot.... I love these old Bird, Magic, and Jordan stories. I've been wasting my last few years of life just reminiscing about the best days of basketball.... (P.S. There will never be another Michael Jordan... I miss watching that dude play)
I agree there will never be another Jordan. Definitely won't be another Bird, just remember Jordan never won a single playoff game vs Bird 0-6... I love MJ but getting tired of the single narrative ijs
