Glenn Herbert Gould (25 September 1932 - 4 October 1982) was a Canadian pianist who became one of the best-known and most celebrated classical pianists of the 20th century. He was particularly renowned as an interpreter of the keyboard music of Johann Sebastian Bach. His playing was distinguished by remarkable technical proficiency and capacity to articulate the polyphonic texture of Bach's music.
Just imagine if Gould and Beethoven himself could have met and argued their respective musical philosophies. What an intellectual cage-match that would've been!
It's always surprising that people attribute Gould to humming while playing when so many musicians were trained to do the same thing. Singing while performing on an instrument is quite a common thing to do.
I love Glenn, he is amazing every thing: when he sings while playing, when he is mad at his own playing. Glenn is perfection, God created this perfection.
