Hi, I walked the WHW solo maybe a couple of weeks or so after you and had snow on Rannoch moor and in Glencoe. Your films brought back some great memories and I also found some fantastic trail friends, thank you for your series it was extremely enjoyable. Best regards, Chris. 👍👍👍
Enjoyed the video, a little bit of a feedback however the music is quite loud when youre talking not sure if its intended but would be nice to hear what youre saying, other than that loved the video!
This feels so surreal to watch after have done the WHW myself couple of weeks ago, definitely a welcomed throwback thanks! Hope you enjoyed the hike :)
Had the same. Had the dream to walk the WHW for a while and finally in 2023 I did it. Great experience. I see you enjoyed it much as I did. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful video. I like the ambient music and natural sounds as opposed to talking. Given me some inspiration to try it, im doing the Alta Via 1 in September so will see how that goes first !
It was the first 2 weeks of August 2023. Have to say, this was not normal. It was record hot temperatures for the area that year which also caused the catastrophic thunderstorms. It was also then snowing at higher altitudes which is unheard of. Cheers :)This is just a few weeks prior and the normal m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BLz1Hl6aJXQ.html
Hi! First of all thanks for watching and reaching out. I left as soon as I could after breakfast at the hostel. It was around 8:30am. But this is just me! I like leaving early and having to deal with less people on the trail (because I stop to take photos, videos and so on). Then I guess it depends on you :) and your level of fitness. It's about 19.5km or 12 miles, most of it in quite deep sand which will slow you down and tire you. With all my stops + lunch break I arrived at Milfontes around 3/4pm. May is going to be quite hot as well so bring water and I'd suggest leaving as early as possible to walk many miles before the hottest hours!! And have fun. It's a spectacular walk.
Wonderful hike Julia and you filmed it beautifully. Incredible views and atmosphere out there. 5 Terre is so gorgeous but the cities or villages are so crowded in summer time ;) Really nice video!
Two for the price of one, Tintern Abbey is absolutely beautiful and church ruins looks like a great to explore. Great vlog and subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for posting this! How long did half the trip take? Is the path marked enough to not think 'I'm lost!!' (I guess in this day and age of google, we're never reallly lost...but still)
I believe the entire thing is a little short of 17km (10.5 miles). I think it took me a couple of hours to get to Bourton, maybe a little longer because of the filming. The trail is well signposted. It was easy to follow. I believe the only time I got a little bit off route was around 3:40 in the video. I went into the cattle field and got stuck in it when the actual path was probably 10 metres to my right over a hedgerow. Luckily, I found a hole in the hedgerow and could cross over. But it was me not paying attention, getting distracted by the cows xD. And another time I couldn't open one of those metal gates so I thought it was the wrong way when actually, again, it was me. Gates are my nemesis. Thanks for watching!
