Graph covers off today boys! 😂 I don’t know how much time you guys have directly using FFS like that, but one of the keys is being able to size check and move on. Just like if a senko is getting crushed by dinks on the delta you need to change something, if you are wailing on big schools of small spots you need to move.
Yup I agree the problem is there aren’t many big spots in the fisheries, just overrun by rats. And I personally don’t have a lot of FFS experience this year is my first full year of using it.
Good stuff man! Pedro used to be quite a fishery from what I have heard from all the old timers. Old bass fisherman have some of the best stories you will hear. \m/
Don Pedro, just like almost all other lakes that have allowed it, has been ruined by the spotted bass. Ever wonder why the number of blue chip giants coming from California is diminishing drastically? Spots eat alot and convert little. They are aggressive and easy to catch. Ego boosting that feeds the demand for more tournaments. 10 lb fish in California are rare outside of Clear Lake or the Delta and its because of the spots. If you catch largemouth, release. If you catch spots, harvest. Keep watching tournament weights shrink and largemouth catches fewer.
@OLDAVE1000 Yup I agree 100% needs to be a massive harvest, I’ve even tossed the idea around of a tournament series that is a spot only slot size tournament who can catch the most 12”-14” spots and then a fish fry afterwards!!! It’s just a shame that the powers at be here in CA couldn’t give two shits about how the fisheries are managed.
Your dad was killing cuz he couldn't get off the FFS when all the fish he caught were the same size. Knowing the two good fish you caught were on a jig and A-Rig I would have thrown that more. Your video was a day late. Had I known the bite was good there I would have went there instead of New Melones. Love the videos.
@@BeardedBassin randomly my buddy ended up getting a smallie over 4lbs. But yea, lots of little pesky spots. But damn those little ones pull way harder than largemouth
@@BeardedBassinneeds to be done sometimes, the bigger fish in that lake are always in the middle of no where surprised that the weights we’re seemingly lower than normal
@@cooperscarbroughfishing5549 I think that’s just how that lake fishes, I don’t think I’ve ever caught over 10lbs there but I know there are big ones somewhere.
@@sharifzagsaw7876 hard to say. Mats and grass die and move everyday, I just run around and when I see a mat I punch it, there will either be fish there or not.
You’ve never gone through the gills to get the hook out when they swallow it ? I learned to do that a couple years ago it’s pretty easy after you do it a couple times.
