The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity that works with more than 150 partner rescue groups and shelters to offer important programs and services that save the lives of NYC's homeless animals. The Alliance is supported entirely by donations from foundations, corporations, and individuals and receives no government funding. Since its founding in 2003, the Alliance has remained committed to transforming New York City into a community where no dogs or cats of reasonable health and temperament will be killed merely because they do not have homes. witam.w zupelnosci popieram takie akcje,bo te kociaki naprawde potrzebuja duzo milosci. przykre jest to ze poki sa mlode,sa kochane i pieszczone,a na starosc jak zuzyte meble wyrzucane na ulice.trzymam kciuki za to by znalezli sie ludzie ktorzy je ponownie pokochaja.
Please don't just adopt a cat, adopt NO KILL instead of trap and kill at all shelters. Stop the unending cycle that keeps millions of healthy cats dying every year. Research the "No Kill Equation" and The No Kill Advocacy Center.
I think the police is looking for opportunities to shoot the dog, because they did not try to use other methods to solve the problem: only using the law by giving their power as a human targets to shoot the dog to meet their pleasure brought by the violence, if they really want to deal with the issue of the dog: they only need patience: let the dog know that they are harmless, that problem can be solve, but they...
umm sure star is a good dog but where are the comments about the man that was dying on the street?????? peple confuse the shit out of me on a daily basis.
Tragic. They should not be allowed to do that, or get away with it. Clearly, the dog was trying to protect his owner, and for them to not even offer the Owner help, even after they shot his dog, is praposterous. People need to take back this place, and not allow Police to do that. Even if by force.
I think the HSUS and the ASPCA both have training available for law enforcement and if asked they will be glad to educate so this never happens again in NY. Get a Google alert for police shoot dog and you will be shocked at the frequency that dogs are shot and killed, even on their own property, doing nothing, by law enforcement all over the country.
the officer deserve to be blind bouth eyes and cut hes hand , why are you doing this to this poor dog , all the cops from us and canada should be get train very well with out the guns. they thinks they have power when they have guns and use the gun , end of the story cops, fuck you cops.
What policy changes are you talking about? The NYPD protects and serves the citizens first. The dogs owner was in need of urgent medical attention. The dog was preventing this and eventually felt threatened and attacked. I am both a former pitbull owner and future police officer, I understand that pitbulls are misunderstood and great animals, but in this situation the officer did all the right things. Additionally, many other officers would have put the dog out of its misery, they did not.
