SUBSCRIBE and Ride with me into the mysterious and intriguing world of a London taxi driver. I'll share with you my typical day out on the road, the amazing people I meet the routes I drive and the fascinating secrets of this great city that only a London Cabbie would know. Enjoy! Self driving taxis have been promised in the 'next two years' for a decade by Musk. Tesla's actual product launches, ie cybertruck, are a joke and it now has no actual consumer cars that will realistically release for the next five years. Its mindbogglingly expensive factories are running at half capacity (ie burning money) and its stock is piling up unsold. Cybertaxi is fundraising hype from a weird nazi who inherited daddy's apartheid mine.
Last time I was in London I was with friends from Nigeria who had never been to the UK, were visiting family. They found black cab drivers to be exceptional, so friendly and helpful giving lots of advice, I'm not a Londoner but I am English so I can give some help when it comes to getting around, but taxi drivers went above and beyond. No "self-driving car" will give you that level of service!
In terms of the Robo taxis, the successful businessman is the one who can adapt to the future. There are people in your comments who are quite clearly asleep to what is happening in the world around them. Elon Musk is the man who has achieved things that no other company or government has achieved. Yesterday his starship was able to self fly into space and land at its landing coordinates perfectly. The booster it uses to take off was also able to detach from the rocket and fly back to its launchpad; position itself to the launch tower it launched from And was Court by giant arms that held it in place autonomously.. Everyone said this would be impossible. Elon also demonstrated his android system, Optimus. The purpose was to show how an android could walk amongst humans. Elon's generalised AI is years ahead of his competitors. Although people are saying the self drives software is somehow unlikely to work, it is driving baround America as we speak. Millions of cars are able to drive on their own. They are almost there. 99.9% functional. Humans have to supervise because the legal framework does not yet allow Complete self driving except in California and a couple of American cities. You can check this out on RU-vid. They are on version 12.5.6 now I believe. All other companies are years behind. The media misrepresent the position of course because of vested interest. It will not be the technology that will not work. It will be the political context. Remember that the far left such as the labour party; American Democrat party and the European Union are quite happy to say they respect Everyone's free speech and free rights provided that you agree with them. The moment you say things that they haven't authorised. You become their enemy. Elon is an advocate for true free speech and true democracy. So, the media and government make falls representations and as we saw in Covid people are sheep and listen to mainstream media. The government and clinical officers are only now holding their hands up to their lies. Everyone of them should be arrested but of course, they will be protected because they are part of that system. I would say by the next election, provided government don't block the technology, self driving and robotaxes alongside androids will be functioning in society. As someone else said below, it will only mean a change for you. The Your income. Just like the Uber platform took the private hire taxi away from small operators will Simply move. the Robo taxi will mean you will run your fleet or run your individual car but take a bulk of the money. I understand the idea is that the Robo fleet management will take 30% (a bit like Uber does) but you will keep 70% of the profit. Because your Robo car can run probably 23 hours a day, you will make more money. Because they are aiming at $25-$30,000, you will be able to buy multiple cars and have your income fund that and run them for decades. Electric cars don't wear and tear like petrol engines. The young are moving away from buying their own cars because it is cheaper to use a taxi. The Robo car will be at least 70% cheaper per trip.. We are on the edge of a true sci-fi society. Change will be 15 to 20 years only if governments are stepping in the way for their political reasons. Good luck.
Robotaxi will be an opportunity for you. You can put your feet up at home or anywhere you want to and manage a small fleet or a single taxi. You manage/do cleaning/maintenance yourself or get other people to do it for you. You'll be able to leaverage your time much more than you can at the moment. Taking fares for 24 hours a day without driving sounds like a dream to me! Good luck, Tesla Robotaxis are coming sooner than people think. Have you seen what Elon has done with rockets.
I still think safety will be the biggest issue before licensing can take place. The vehicles would defiantly struggle to do a U turn in London, may still be open to bullying from other drivers. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
For autonomous vehicles to operate safely it would need every vehicle,Taxis, vans, cars, lorries, buses, etc ,to be the same ,and what will the insurance be?,also I wonder if the created autonomous Motor bikes & Cycles 😅
Good point! I was stuck in the square because Charles 2nd was blocked off with a crane. By the time Pall Mall came it seemed to be moving better. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
You obviously didn’t see Elon’s automation event, it’ll be here in less than five years, but NOT in this country as the current lot in charge are taking us back to the seventies 😂 Better get some candles for when the blackouts start :-)
At the Euston station did you set down and pick up from the same spot? I thought in another vlog you said that they were separate areas? Or am I confused with another station?
I think you’ve answered your own question. Pay a little more for use of your own lane that gets you to your destination quicker. We have passengers specifically getting in because they know we can use bus lanes. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Tesla started selling FSD in 2016, and the first beta came out in 2020. FSD is still in beta, and nowhere in the world allows FSD with no driver. Self-driving is obviously needed for the Cybercab and although there is a 4 year old beta, it still doesn't exist. 2026? A safe bet it won't be.
Nice one again. Cheers. Concerning robo-taxies. Not yet. Give it 10 to 15 years and it will be different. Problem is that human contact is getting less and less. So there will always be a market for London cabbies.
Loved this! Especially the calling over along routes as I'm doing the knowledge currently! First video of yours I've watched Mark but will probably binge a few more now! 😃👍
Oh my, Pont St again for the Green Hut😂 Anyway, love that you come in from west London I get to see my area (Holland Park) and the surrounding areas that I know very well including all the "Hollands"😂 sped up on the videos. Mark is it better for me to carry cash for my cab journeys? I ask because you were pleased to get cash.
We all like a little cash every now and then partly as we don’t have to pay card fees through the processing so it all goes to us. You’ll be seeing a lot more of west London in future videos, thanks again for your channel support 🙏🏻
Did I understand correctly that people park at Westfield because it's cheap and then get a taxi into the city? I would have thought that the cost of the taxis would be more than the savings from the parking.
Mark, I guarantee you Robo cab will never have a sniff off London or Europe. Maybe in America and Canada with a massive road, Mr. Mask may lease the road for his crazy idea. This is the idea dead before its birth . We don't have any interest in the fantasy of a weirdo person idea. Don't give a second to worry about this, Mark.
I agree! Rob taxis would probably be ok on a straight wide road with very little traffic, London would bamboozle them very quickly especially with the road works. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I used to rank at the Savoy a lot in the 90s never got a flyer I wonder if it’s still bent. As for Robot Taxi yes coming but will hit the minicabs first. As there are 100k minicabs in London they should worry.. I think Black Taxi has a lifespan of 25 years no more. Great video well done 👏.
ranked up on Savoy Hotel many times and never gave it as thought i was on the right side in fact it seemed normal to me but after watching this i now see what you mean
@@Markstaxidiaries I do enjoy using my favourite phrase “How much !!!” at least a dozen times a day while down there, love seeing there little faces light up when I use it 🤣
