Both are great knives. I have two Knockouts; one in the safe for that unfortunate day when I lose my Knockout working knife. My Knockout working knife is a hard use knife and has never failed me. The Sandvik 14c28n steel does not disappoint. I keep a Landsky close by for tune ups. I agree with you on the thumb studs (useless) and the lack of jumping. I cut jumping into my working knife on the scales and even on the blade with a Dremel to improve traction in wet or hot sweating conditions. She's a Frankenstein for sure. My Launch is an occasional carry knife. Great knife but I'm sold on the Knockout as a working knife.
I just bought a ZT 0452cf and love it. It did come with loose pivot screws, but I tightened them with my T8 wrench. My lockup is about 25%, but its rock solid. I think ZT is doing this now to allow for further lockup in the future. Great action! My serial number is over 28000.
What the crap are you talking about, man? You cannot compare Japanese knives to knives from China... Japan has a long high quality knife tradition and industry as good as Germany and better than the USA. Maybe you think all East Asia is the same because the people look similar? Thanks for the video though. Only video about Mcusta Tsuchi Large.
What an absolute crock! You can clearly see the lateral force you had to apply on the lock bar. How much torque is necessary on a knife to cut cardboard....what ever
I just received my ZT 0452CF on 02/17/21 and the lock bar doesn't go beyond 30% lockup no matter how hard i try to force it over. My serial number on the knife is 22301. So ZT has had a lot of time to correct this issue! I'm very pleased with the fit, finish, and function of this beautiful knife!
Serial number 5025 here, doesn't suffer from this either. So it seems they it relatively early in production. Really unfortunate that the earlier ones suffer from this though.
i have the same knife. I hate it but now I have hours into it and it works. the trick is to mirror polish around the pivot because the stone wash is too pitted to work with the IKBS bearings. I ended up working the bearings with diamond paste and I lost a few so I got ceramic bearings as a replacement. I broke an inch off the tip of the blade to make it a wharncliffe. I made a wave opener and made it a full flat grind with no secondary bevel and mirror polished the whole blade instead of a hollow grind stone tumbled acid wash. I did the flipper mod and added a pinky choil/nail nick and made the lock bar more accessible by grinding out the index finger choil. I threw the pocket clip away and I carry it in my watch pocket of my jeans. Boker is overpriced because of their import costs are insanely high. this is a poopy knife but it makes a good project but for the price and the time you could still do better.
hey my friend, i have been looking at this knife and am thinking of buying it. would normally go for the 4" blade but have quite afew 4" knives so might go with the 90mm blade. i wan a button lock for the action to be honest with drop shut action. this does not seem to have that ? am i correct ? it needs whipping back in , great video , many thanks and kind regards.
Where did you get that carbon fiber scale? And did you just order the hardware directly from Hinderer for the XM-18?? Or how did you go about getting it??
here's a link to a U Tube video that shows the box your knife came in is a fake can you please comment? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mKmtO96Veew.html&pbjreload=10
I think constantly Flipping open and closing the Blade causes Fatigue and flattering to the lock face and lock bar causing over travel of the lockbar! Great Video Sincerely Thomas Raymond.
Of course it IS elegant, because the dragon reference is not overstated in some kind of cheesy manner. If "dragon scale" wasn't mentioned, it could as easily be imitating plate armour, which itself imitates the armour of fish, reptiles and pangolins. I have been admiring it and holding off the expense for years, but have just ordered the last one in stock in Europe, as far as I can tell online!
I know this is old af. But I have a 562cf that has about 15 to 20 percent lockup and it doesn't shift at all on squeeze and push test

Knockout is my EDC. Just got an launch in camo. The camo version is textured and has alot more grip plus the camo is outstanding not a typical camo pattern more like krypton. Its awesome
Does anybody else have some blade play in their emissary ? Like when fully open it moves forward and back some like open close directions this also occurs when closed and locked
