The Academy Hub consists of technical and architectural guidance videos across a variety of subjects. The series began as the Modern Analytics Academy and expanded to include areas such as AI/ML, security, and analytics. Within each Academy, you’ll find a collection of expert-level sessions and demonstrations.
While the content is principally produced by Microsoft Partner and Cloud Solution Architects, the content is the work of the individual contributors and does not necessarily reflect that of Microsoft Corp.
I like how short and informative the videos are. However they need to go into depth more. You’re onto something great here with your topics and video format but.. gotta go a little deeper I think. Subscribed!!
Mispronunciations can really stick. I recorded this during my first year at MSFT, and I thought it was ‘MITRE’ (not ‘MY-TER’) for MONTHS until someone corrected me.
This operation should be done for every user using Business Central in the organization? Is there a way to centralize these configurations so it will affect all Business Central users in the organization?
@meryemassouad9572 -- you can absolutely centeralize the configurations. The demo was simply to prove a point, how to consider who can access data. I encourage you to extend your education by reviewing some of the articles surrounding security in Business Central. Below are two articles to help you get started. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/security/security-application learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/across-teams-overview
After installing Bravo and trying to attach it to Power BI Desktop, we encountered an issue: Bravo Power BI tool error 500 - the user does not have permission to access the Discover method. In the domain controller, what permissions does the user need to connect Bravo to Power BI?
In this specific video, the demo was produced for Microsoft. Otherwise, in other videos, you can utilize features in video editing software (e.g., Camtasia or Clipchamp).
I would like to learn and get more hands on with Teams Admin Center. I am currently a systems administrator at my company and we use Office365 (Hybrid Environment) but unfortunately we do not use Teams Admin Center. How can I get more hands on with Teams Admin Center if I cant use it, especially outside of my organization ?
Explore the Microsoft Teams Admin training on Microsoft Learn. It features tutorials, videos, and other material for both users and admins -> learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/training-microsoft-teams-landing-page
Thank you for this. But when creating real time journey for a web form submission and depending of parameter submitted in the webform, how can i trigger email. Lets say i have a form in my website that gathers email, phone and to select the department where the issue is related to, how can i configure it
@yoliyolo - I would recommend reviewing the linked article on trigger-based journeys. This should help you understand how your web forms, from your website, can be utilized as triggers and incorporated into real-time journeys: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/journeys/real-time-marketing-trigger-based-journey
Thank you for the video. I'd like to ask you a question. We have different Poly VVX desk phones and I didn't find a way to see from the buttons on the device, if the extension I want to call to, is busy or not. Is there a way to do that on the vvx? Thank you
When using Poly VVX desk phones, you can determine whether an extension is busy or not by observing the phone’s icons and status indicators. Additionally, during the transfer process, dial *55 instead of the extension, followed by the extension and # to confirm the transfer. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
@@theacademyhub Thank you for the answer. How would you configure users extension numbers from teams? Didn't find a way to configure the email of the user on Polycoms. When you transfer from teams app, you just select the user, and it transfers. But when you are using the polycom VVX there isn't an option to enter their username or email. I was able to add their phone number on the buttons, but it doesn't show the call presence of them.
To configure user extension numbers in Teams, use the Teams Admin Center. That said, directly configuring email on Polycom VVX phones isn't possible, but you could setup voicemail-to-email functionality separately. When transferring calls from Teams to Polycom VVX phones, use blind or consultative transfer methods. For better call presence visibility, consider adding frequently dialed numbers as speed dial buttons on the Polycom phones too.
There is a PR submitted to the Azure CLI Extensions repository with an updated publish command. It hasn't been released yet and is still awaiting approval. Once that is released, we will record a new video that shows you how to programmatically publish a managed app. In the meantime, use the portal as you normally would.
@milovanste2276 - I would recommend creating a trial of Business Central. You can either do this via trials.dynamics.com or create a demo environment at demos.microsoft.com. Once you have this configured, follow the steps listed in the video and you'll have a live environment to demonstrate these capabilities.
Hi, I am on Version 23.5, I have enabled the Copilot feature, but I cannot see the New from Picture option, can you please assist me, what am I missing?
@kuljeetsingh7278 - the "new from picture" should be available to you as part of the drop-down to the right of the new button. Make sure you are not just selecting "new." Also, you can skip this step and still take advantage of Copilot. Select any item and navigate to the information pane on the right. Open any item and you will see the Marketing text box where you can draft with Copilot.
Hi, I'd like to know how journeys can be triggered based on real-world interactions like walking into a store and connecting to Wi-Fi? Any additional setup or coding is required?
@lovelyju8475 - enclosed is the article on how to create custom triggers. You'll learn more about how to leverage them based on the scenario you're asking about - learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/journeys/real-time-marketing-custom-triggers
I don't think we have any books (the product changes rapidly!) but I'd recommend both the blog: techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/azure-database-for-postgresql/bg-p/ADforPostgreSQL And the community forum as a good place to learn more: techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/azure-database-for-postgresql/bd-p/AzureDatabaseforPostgreSQL Hope this helps!
Thank you for your feedback and we appreciate your input. We'll prioritize improving audio quality as we update our Teams content over the coming months. Is there a specific part of the video or topic that you would like us to elaborate on or clarify for you?
Thank you so much for your investment in Dynamics 365. A great way to start your journey is by getting started with a trial account and to continue your learning path through the Learning Page. Here is the link - learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales/
We’re sorry that you find the content unsatisfactory. Is there a particular topic or section of the video that we can provide more detail on or clarify for you?”
For Push Notifications, you will need your own app to connect. Since I don't have an app, the video demonstrates how to create the notification. If you would like to learn more about how to configure and connect this to CI-Journeys (aka Marketing), I would encourage you to review the following doc: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/journeys/real-time-marketing-developer-push?tabs=ios-v1

No special license is required to add UEBA to Microsoft Sentinel, and there's no additional cost for using it. However, the more data you ingest, and the longer you choose to retain it, will lead to higher costs.
Thank you. My understanding is UEBA will create new table/s hence new data or extra data, which would lead to extra costs. Is this right? @@theacademyhub
UEBA generates new data and stores it in new tables that UEBA creates in your Log Analytics workspace (LAW). Additional data storage charges will apply, based on the volume of data ingested and retained by UEBA and similar to other Microsoft Sentinel capabilities. So yes, it would lead to extra costs.
Thank you awesome video very useful! And also incredible blog! I have a technical question regarding the ingestion of CEF logs in a standard table using logstash and DCR for which I can't find any answer but I don't want to kidnap the comment section. Let me know if I can ask it to you here or somewhere else?
@@theacademyhub Thank you for your message. My question is as follows: TLDR: Is it possible to utilize Logstash along with the "microsoft-sentinel-log-analytics-logstash-output-plugin" output plugin to send CEF logs to a standard table like CommonSecurityLog, without the necessity to craft a specific transformation for each log source? Similar to the way CEF-formatted logs are directed to the Azure Monitor Agent (AMA), which seamlessly ingests the logs into the appropriate location. Some context: We are a reasonably sized company with around 10,000 users, heavily relying on Microsoft/Azure products. Currently transitioning from Splunk to Sentinel for our SIEM needs, we encountered an issue with the limited buffer size (10 GB) of an AMA agent, which is insufficient for our daily data volume of 1 TB. Concerned about potential data loss during network hiccups due to the quickly filling buffer, we restructured our on-premises data collection architecture. We opted for Logstash using the "microsoft-sentinel-log-analytics-logstash-output-plugin," drawing inspiration from this article (learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/sentinel/connect-logstash-data-connection-rules). While successfully sending syslogs to custom tables, we are facing challenges when attempting to send CEF-formatted logs to a standard table. The result is empty entries in the table with no parsing. The data we send conforms to the format outlined in the sample file at the bottom of this page: github.com/Azure/Azure-Sentinel/tree/master/DataConnectors/microsoft-sentinel-log-analytics-logstash-output-plugin. Although we could potentially resolve this by creating a transformation to precisely match each field, we believe this is not future-proof and not the ideal approach. Are we overlooking something? Despite consulting documentation and blogs, I have not found a resource addressing this specific problem. I appreciate your assistance and your valuable content. Thank you!
Thank you for your question. I do believe it’s possible. I would start here: 1. Verify that your CEF logs are compliant with the CEF standard and that they include the required fields. Use learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/sentinel/cef-name-mapping to validate your CEF logs. 2. Ensure Logstash has the right configuration. a. The input plugin should use the codec cef to parse the CEF logs. input { tcp { port => XYZ codec => cef } } b. Rename the CEF fields to match the CommonSecurityLog field names if you haven’t done so already. Use learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/reference/tables/commonsecuritylog as a reference. rename => { "deviceVendor" => "DeviceVendor" "deviceProduct" => "DeviceProduct" "deviceVersion" => "DeviceVersion" "deviceEventClassId" => "DeviceEventClassID" "name" => "Name" "severity" => "Severity" …so on for other fields } c. The output plugin should use “microsoft-sentinel-log-analytics-logstash-output-plugin” to send the CEF logs to the CommonSecurityLog table. You need to specify the log_type as CommonSecurityLog and the time_generated_field as end. log_type => "CommonSecurityLog" time_generated_field => "end" d. Restart the Logstash service and check the CommonSecurityLog table, let me know if this worked.
I'm not certain which screen you are referring to in your comment. Please keep in mind, some of the integration steps have changed slightly since this video was produced. For the most recent settings to integrate Business Central and Sales, please review the online documentation here learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/admin-prepare-dynamics-365-for-sales-for-integration.
@@theacademyhub Thanks for your response. I am able to connect and see changes on both sides but when I added a customer in business central it does not appear in sales professional. May be it takes time?
