On the front suspension, what Nm or torque did you tighten the 3 top bolts and the 1 on the bottom? Or was this not needed where you can just tighten them fairly hard?
Hey, I uselessly dont torque spec, its in the hand, been fixing cars for almost 50 years now, but the top bolts dont over tight them, if you are in doubt look the spec up.
I know the Video ist about the Springs and is 2 years old. But these Rims are from GMP Stellar right ? I think they are 19inch But what is the Rim width front & Rear axle And the offset of the Rims ?
@@vmaxviking Thank you very much. I want to buy these rims but 8JX19 et45 225/40 front 9.5x19 et 50 255/35 rear but i dont know if this gonna fit in the rear axle Mercedes S205 c250d 4matic
Hello. Sorry to read that your v-max burned down. It looked and sounded good. You selling parts from it surprised me. Giving up on v- max? Please tell us what happened to cause your nice v-max to go on fire. We can all benifit from that information. The gen 1 v- max looks so much better than gen 2. Thank you, best wishes.
Hey, it was a nightmare to watch my bike go up in flames that night, i was on my way home from a short run, we vere going on holiday some days later, all of a suden the bike startet to misfire, it was just after a small stint with the trottel wide open for 30 sek, the pull of 175ps is amazing, rolled to the side of the road and stod of the bike, it just went puf and flames came out from the fuel pump. Some days later when i got the bike back home i discoverd that my local mecanic had forgot to put a small metal clamp on the no1 fuel line coming from the fuel pump, there are 2 fuel lines and only one had the metal clamp. He had cleand the carps a short time before this. Very sad. Mis the bike alot.
Hi, you know the bearing I’ve noticed it goes thin then thick, does the thick part of the bearing sit where the coil spring ends as I’m doing my suspension currently and noticed on the old springs the coil ends in a different place to the new 1s so I need to know 100% where the thick part of that bearing should be sitting. Thank you
Hey, its some time now sins i have done this, but as i remember when you put the spring on the bottom gide plate, then the top bering also has a gide plate that can only sit in one place, im not 100% on this, but the way the top bering is mountet on the body, also give you the way its shoud sit. Hope it helps. And remember to mark it up with a marker another time. 😉😉
@@vmaxvikingI was going to mark it up but totally forgot, I just don’t no if I need to position it the same as it was or different because now my new spring coil ends to the front where as the old 1 was to the back. So with that said do I need to move the top black thick part to where it was previous or have I done the right thing and moved it to the front where the coil ends. Or does it matter at all? Thank you for your help. My shocks are currently of the car and new springs on. I’d like to rectify this if I need to before i install the shocks on the car tomorrow
@@vmaxviking also there is no gide plate for the top the black plastic bearing can sit in any position. Which is why I’m confused as my new spring is sitting different (coil ends different place than before) so I was thinking the black bearing should sit in a different position
@@Antsummerfield83 If i was in your naborhood i could have popd by you and help to fix it, but im here in Denmark, so its not easy over this platform, you have to try your way forwad to see if its sits right. Next time remember to mark it or take some photos, and last tip, only make one side a time, then you can allways have a look at the side you havent done yet. let me know how it goes. 😀😀😀😀
@@vmaxviking sorted it, there are 2 small plastic pegs on the black bearing that line up with the metal top strut 👍. Although I strapped up both sides with rope this morning I lost gear box oil 😖
Thanks for your video, I have just purchased a 308 gt line 1.5 bluehdi and I am looking to buy some lowering springs and for them so your video has helped me to know what I’m up against as I’ve not worked on a 308 before. I was considering H&R springs as the eibach springs said 25 rear and 30 front so I was a little put off by that but you state 30 front and rear? I know the H&R are 30 front and back.
Amazing video! Thanks so much. I thought I’d need to take this to a garage to do but now I am confident I can do myself. One question, did you use any loctite on any of the components? Thanks so much again. Looking forward to tackling this in the next few weeks!
Thanks, super nice you like the video, its not a simple job to do, but if you follow my steps it shoud go okay, one note if you have an 2015-2018 there may be a slight difference ind the front suspension arms, don't worry about that, just use commen sens. No i dont use Loctite on it, there are no need for it. Let me know how it goes. 😀😀😀😀
@@vmaxvikingthanks so much. Yes mine is 2016 so will follow your tutorial and adapt. Got all the tools so all I need now is the time so I can take my time. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again for the great video!
@@vmaxviking thanks so much. Keep you posted!! Ps I’ve watched your video about 30 times and crossed referenced with my car and it all looks the same so far 🤞
@@vmaxviking so today I got the front end all done. Took about 2.5hrs as had to remove top arm but all good. Quick question…what did you torque the top bolt holding the spring together to? Can’t find it anywhere. Thanks again
I have a 2016 308 1.6 bluehdi. I have 204000 miles ( almost 330k km ) on the clock 😅 still drives however emissions are slightly higher than it supposed to be 😢 as I was trying to clear the system I think I broke the turbo 🥲
Hey I have a c205 2017 4matic with 20” wheels. Do u think mine will rub? I’d really appreciate your help as I just got the same springs but debating for my install tomorrow.
Not on my car, i have done 2 sets of rear tyres now and the were on them are totalt even. Perhaps some bushings needs to be replace on your sons car. 😀
Men dårligt design uanset hvad
When fitting new front spring , does it matter which way they go on , i can't tell which end is the top or bottom , also i assume there is no left or right spring , it can go on either side ?
When you up the size on your wheels the cap gets bigger, lowering gives you an overall better look of the car. Ride is the same. The rear spoiler is OEM, you can get at your local MB dealer.
@@vmaxviking Ok but between them whitch its more confortable?i dont know why but i think h&r are harder than eibach.i have a e220 w213 and i want to lower it.i have amg shock so im not afraid of hard suspension but wanted to know witch its harder...
@@claussmirca2714 Had H&R on a BMW once, but had yellow Koni on it at the same time , so ges its not the right leage, but i dont think there is mutch diffenrece in these 2 makes. in all its just steel. I might be wrong. I got Eibach because i had them on my Peugeot 308, and they were perfect on that car. So on my W205 they are also great.
I installed H&R lowering springs to my C43 and I am hearing a clunking noise from the front under 25mph on the roads is there anything I did wrong? Any suggestions?
@@vmaxviking yes i torqued all the nuts and bolts that I took off or touched it helped the sound lessen but i can still hear it on the driver side front wheel. i’ve been having issues with this wheel before and installing lowering springs definitely made it worse. Though i’ve never heard this thumping sound before until I installed the springs. I was thinking it could be the bolt that is holding in the rotor could be loose but you need a special mercedes tool for that.
Just come across your videos on the vmax, I'm currently in the same position stripping and repainted ,trying to source the same rear end and side scoops ,great video from England 🏴
Hey Richard, yes the Vmax is a super cool bike. I regret to say that this one vhent up in flames in august, but i was eable to save the hole rear end and front end, im almost done the cleaning and polishing of all the parts, they vill be up for sale soon. writh me at hendrikvmax@yahoo.dk if you have interst in this.
@@RicksAquariumsuk just pop in your car and take a drive to Denmark, we live only 45 min from Esbjerg in Jylland, just a boat trip over the sea. The parts from new are real expensive, think the rear wheel setup is around 5 to 6 grand in euros. If you come here and take the lot you get a god price.
Great project. Do you know what type of front forks those are? Been thinking of swapping my oem front end but don't know what the best option would be. Love the look of those
Thanks Damon. The front forks are from WP. The fork trees are billet made by Otec in France, like the complet wheel set. On a sad note the bike whent up in flames in september.
