Keep Mexican culture in Mexico. There are no jobs here for illegals. Spread the word. Your American vacation ends on January 20th 2025 when president Trump returns to the White House !! You're going back to wherever you're from or to your next vacation destination outside of our country !
From/In albuquerque myself I never really got the appeal of Santa Fe, its small and expensive. Still to this day on the rare occasion I need to go I ALWAYS have a bad run in experience with a local... it's always the older white ppl and always seem to act privileged. I was on track to get a job with the State of NM and was gonna have to commute from Abq. The state pulled my offer stating they did not have 'funds' (budget) to hire. Soo my question why even post jobs if their not really hireing... I also got job notifications from other applications in other depts I put in with them and slowly they all got mysteriously 'canceled' I'm sure the same reason they don't have funds. It amazes me because MLG approved a 10 BILLION budget this year from our oil revenue. So short story don't apply to ANY jobs with state. AND hello to your kitty cat!!😺
I'm so sorry you've encountered that! But I'm not surprised. There's a lot of entitlement here. I think you saved yourself a headache with State. I've heard a lot of similar stories like that and it seems to be a toxic place to work. Jiji says hi! 😸
The elected officials not governing our city is creating chaos for the people visiting and people living in Santa Fe. The loud cars that take over our city day and night and the speeding cars and running red lights is an embarrassment to this city and the tax payers. There is no police presence to control any of this. In short, Santa Fe is going in the wrong direction. The officials are more interested with making the rail and art district another Disney park and not fixing problems at hand. I moved to Santa Fe over 14 years ago and love it, but the last few years of increased noise from the modified car mufflers have taken over the sound scape and is causing noise pollution that's unacceptable for most cities. My family and friends will no longer visit due to lack of sleep either in hotel rooms or at my place due to the noise. There are laws in place to curb the illegal cars but it's not being enforced. This is unfair and I don't know to approach it. I have contacted the governor's office and never received a reply, same with the mayor. Do our elected officials ever step outside to see what's going on in this city? This has been going on for a long time and there's been more than ample time to fix this.
Are there good suburbs near Santa Fe? Wanting to buy there but the homes are more expensive than FL! I love Santa Fe! Definitely an energetic portal there!!!
Espanola is not the nicest/high crime rate but cheaper. White Rock and the South side of Santa Fe are nice! White Rock is in between Los Alamos and Santa Fe and very nice. Lots of professionals and families that work in the labs live there. There are a few others that I like!
i look at nm 3 hard years. heres the problem. the crime ranked 3rd now in the usa. the pollution wind and dust is bad. its rated as one of the worse in the usa. the taxes will eat u for lunch. if u were live in high state tax bracket like nm for me where is there value? better weather ok sometimes. u can live there cheap in crummy apts then u close to the hoods. the tax code keeping people away. so next year they lower the capital gains tax and cut cut in half. big deal when u can go to other staes and pay now tax. your tax not growing because of al these reasons and others. i reallt wanted to move there but, at the end of the day there were much better options out there for me and huge cost savings. thx for your video ive seen you other one. i wish u and your partner the best of luck. take it easy, patrick.
My wife and I were just in Santa Fe this past week on vacation. I absolutely loved it. While I can't see us moving there, mostly due to kids and potential grandkids, I am going to check into possible monthly rentals. I would love to spend maybe one month a year out there and use it has a base to explore the west. Currently we have to cross the plains to get out west and it's pretty prohibitive on how often we do it.
I’m strongly considering moving there grew up in Canada, LA for 17 years and now Savannah for 7- but what I really want to know is how bad are those winters ??? I saw 20’s 30’s it drops down to 😢
Nice! Well, I grew up in CO where the winters were like negative 30's in the mornings on the worst days so I still don't consider Santa Fe to have horrible winters. It is like fall from late August to early December. And then it gets to be around 40's-50's with some snow storms here and there. The mountains up the road and people who live there definitely experience more of the winter weather. To me, I absolutely love this weather! It's always like 10 degrees cooler than ABQ (Albuquerque). The one thing I hate though is how dark it gets during the winter and how dry it gets. My skin suffers so much!
Thanks for this. Planing on moving out their next year, going to check it out a few places in June. I'm from LA. A music producer, but mostly my profession is manufacturing. Thinking about starting a business out their.
Thanks for the up-date on Santa Fe. I enjoyed your old videos. The problem is everything everywhere is becoming too expensive for artists live. Now, you must be 100 miles out or more from any place like Santa Fe, Taos, Sedona or anywhere upscale and artistic. I too live in Colorado, and it is extremely expensive as you know. There really is no good solution any longer. Inflation is everywhere and getting much worse. Your thought of homesteading is still viable but, it too has absolutely skyrocketed to find good land with water. You might consider looking Down around Silver City on the Gala River if possible. But that too is likely really expensive now. It’s tough.
Nora! It’s great to see you back again! I’ve been wondering about how good Santa Fe is to live in. I’m in Colorado and have been thinking about moving down there. Where do you think you and your husband will go after Santa Fe?
@@NoraCazares Aww! Well I’m glad you got the most out of Santa Fe and NM. I hoped it would be an ideal place, but after watching this video and hearing others’ experiences, it sounds tough. Do you think you’d go back to Albuquerque again?
@@dillong4513 I love NM! But it's still not enough to make it my permanent home. We plan on making the best out of it for at least a few more years. I actually vibe more with Santa Fe vs. ABQ even if they don't have enough pilates gyms lol.
Just to clarify, Spaniards did not have "colonies", they had Virreinatos, Provincias and Capitanias Generales. Nuevo Mexico was a provincia, part of the Vice Royalty of New Spain.
I am planning on moving to NM, AZ, or CA this year. I cannot stand Chicago (and haven't for years). Thanks for NOT deterring viewers with BGM. I think I will love it there. Too many alternative punks (goths, especially). Lots of rude people. It's not what other YT videos depict it as. I hate all the shit, that was done since the 90s. Downtown has been expanded, further south. All kinds of new shit just popped up. The traffic really grew, and so did the number of punks, nerds, and losers. I want to get away from all that (and the southwest is where I want to go). I want to neutralize my accent (working on that right now). I don't want any of my past, or current life, with me. That's how a move should be.
Would love to know where your renting because as a born and raised in Santa Fe nm the cost of living is absolutely ridiculous making it hard for the locals to continue to live in Santa Fe, I know a lot of apartments are charging two thousand dollars a month in Santa fe
Santa Fe is pretty, and most importantly, it's near a number of world class trails in the Sangre De Cristos. Sadly, only the rich and elite can afford to live there. I don't know how anyone other than the rich can afford to live there unless you want to split housing between 10 different people.
The only people who can really afford to live in Santa Fe comfortably, are Los Alamos Lab staffers, and wealthy old money families. There are two very distinct societies: the people who live to serve the wealthy, and the wealthy who enjoy being served.
New Mexico is a Democrat run state, and there’s the problem. The governor is an absolute disgrace. Not knowing or understanding the Constitution of the United States is shocking. The direction is wrong for freedom. Vote with your brain and facts, not emotion.
