Glad to see more entry level options but I do wish it was slightly cheaper considering the cost cutting they've taken. Currently though if I were to go for a wheel I'd likely get this one as it's only a little bit more than the Logitech G920/923 over here and it's just so much more versatile. I do also like the small form factor and it makes it way easier to mount on my desk or even a smaller rig. The only issues for me are that rim and the pedals, that round rim you showed is $110 here and the upgraded SR-P pedals are about $350 including Clutch (CRP are $650 so way out of the question). Still comes out cheaper than the R5 bundle though which is $850 with the same SR-P Lite pedals, so all in all around $1200 for an R5 Bundle with the slightly upgraded pedals or $1500 with CRP, both which are just way too much currently. Unfortunately no presence here at all from Fanatec or the others so there's not even an alternative outside of Logitech currently.
DEFINIETLY. Bro that was my chilchood game when i was 5 i started playing it and i loved it Until i was 9 and my console crashed and i cried so hard for so much. Even tho the last time i played was 4 years ago i still remember the whole map
It is still popular, but it really is a dumpster fire. The map sucks, the online sucks, the progression sucks, the dlc sucks, I only play it for the driving, and that’s barely. The physics feel like the cars driving itself even with all assists off. I play fh2 for cruising and racing way more than I play fh5. The only upside is the “stage” rally, which is bearable besides the goofy helicopter co-driver, and the stages being wider than your mom.
Only with something like a Drivehub I believe. Console doesn't support mixing and matching brands due to most of them having their own unique connectors.
I went with Moza over fanatec because fanatec customer service is non existent. Any issues and you’re on your own, Moza got back to be instantly. I had to contest via PayPal because they’re that bad. I would urge anyone to avoid fanatec at ALL COST.
I don’t understand how you can recommend this wheel if it does not support two huge racing sims in the console marketplace namely Assetto Corsa Competizione and F1 2023?
Blame Xbox, Xbox are blocking them according to Moza support, to be fair though they've said so many different things to each reviewer it's hard to know what's the truth or what is just laziness on their end
Ill never forget playing thousands of hours of Motorsport 3 and 4 on my xbox360 and then playing Horizon for the first time, starting off with that 92 volkswagen hell yeah
I guess for me it was the community....the fact I could ALWAYS go to the red rock canyons and drift until I could barely keep my eyes open with random people, no matter what lobby I was in, or what time I was on. Even heading down to the dam to see who could drift the whole thing haha.
I've only played FH4 & FH5 but one thing I rarely see mentioned when comparing is how much better FH4s soundtrack is. It literally isn't close. I downloaded both together so I know it's not a nostalgia thing, it's just that much better
It is interesting because when you need money to buy a new car while you car is to slow for the new race. You gonna be forced to grind out the cash on the easier tracks, this in turn gives you the feeling of having earned the new car. A lot of games try to remove the grind but forgot that they have nothing else going for them beside the grind. Like look at need for speed alone, underground 1 & 2 wer amazing, most wanted went downhill but still was amazing for the cop chases. In need for speed carbon they destroyed everything, you got your own cars you got the cop but everything feels half baked. Everything else after need for speed carbon is just a plain joke. (these are all the old game names, not the remastered one, remaster is nothing else other than trash) It surprises me how devs can oversee the most important part of a game, the feeling of you having earned it yourself. It doesn't have to be a race sim because every race game has this same issue. Also game sims always go to far towards, but we are realistic but then forget the whole realistic part. I played gran turismo 1 & 2, after that it was already a big mess.
It's interesting. I never had a problem with rubber banding. I almost never used the time slow down function as I never knew which button it was(I was like 8 at the time). At that time I also didn't know that there was a fast travel option which made it possible for me to drive around. An EXCELLENT game! And I really love the cop tactics.
The best thing about moving to DD wheel was how quiet it is. I can play at night without the annoying belt whine that used to really bother me with my old thrustmaster wheel
Plus you don't feel every single gear teeth touching each other and you don't have to worry about breaking it just by turning with a little bit of extra force
unfortunately the line "vsync_fps" is not in the latest version of xenia canary config file and if you add it and save, it gets deleted, so there is no current way of forcing the game to run at 60fps, unless it's in some other setting that isn't obvious.
Well, I bought FH4 on steam when FH5 was already available with both DLCs, played a lot for a year. Was looking at FH5, but the price, I love UK map much more then Mexico map, plus I thought FH5 wasn't that big of a difference... But then I tried FH5 on gamepass, and it is so much nicer to drive. Physics, actually working trigger vibro for steam client (I know that some people have it in FH4 on steam too, but I couldn't get it working), much better graphics, IMHO stories are better (and there are more of them), drift open, great volcano roads, I don't have to wait ages for a load in online games even with a nvme ssd and close to the top CPU, better camera, some QoL improvements, etc. And then I bought a prem edition on steam, and oh boy - rally update is awesome: map itself, time attack mode with clues. And hot wheels is less annoying for me, then lego DLC, though not a fan of those toy-themed DLCs. I thought I'll still return to FH4 because of map and seasons, but FH5 is simply better at the core - driving itself.
I mean if you want a round wheel and a clutch the r3 bundle will cost you (where i live) 568 euro. If you get the Fanatec Csl DD r2r bundle and buy the additional clutch pedal you pay 540 euro, and you get 8nm of force with a round wheel and clutch. Imo the r3 is very much overpriced. Which is quite funny, because rn their R5 bundle costs 509 euro. If you get a clutch pedal with that that will still be 553 euro. And although you dont get a round wheel, its still higher quality than the r3. And even the r5 still has less torque than the Fanatec CSL at that price point. I used to be a big fan of moza wheels, but it just feels like they are getting a little too confident as a "leader", with everyone being angry at Fanatec. Tbh Fanatec ruined their rep, but I´d still rather invest in one of their wheels. And if you wanted less torque you could just go for the r2r 5nm bundle from Fanatec and with a clutch and a round wheel straight from the box, you would pay around 440 euro. Yeah Fanatec ruined their rep, but there is no reason they couldn´t get it back. And they also didn´t stop existing because of that.
I wanted to buy this for my son, sadly the r3 does not support ACC and F1 24. With a mail from Moza they have no idea when and if this will be updated with a future patch
If only Forza was any good on a wheel, it's horrendous because it is a controller game at heart, Turn 10 and Playground games need to get proper wheel users to help them
