I’ll be documenting my journey towards self sustainability and my efforts to grow my own food/plants as cheaply and efficiently as possible. Check out my videos for tutorials, product reviews, and all things related to my plant growing journey.
Please reach out with your own gardening and harvesting stories as well as any tips and tricks you may have, I’d love to hear from you!
I believe cutting the stems on a 45 degree doesn't help. I've rooted many clones before and never seen roots pop out of the bottom cut. Usually it's on the nodes first then the stem. Just cut on a straight line
Natural rooting hormone for best results were the Raw Honey 🍯 dip stems in Cinnamon just dip stems in Water 💦 just dip stems in What was the time frame for stems in each rooting hormone listed?
This is super cool! What ratios did you use for the nutrients, and did you change it up at all over time (like a different blend for seedlings vs when they're flowering)?
What an incredible video! Excellent explanation and demonstration. Thank you for sharing so much knowledge in such a clear way, I really appreciate it!
Thanks for this video. I bought some eastern arborvitae seeds on etsy, and I wanted to make sure they were legit. Looks just like the ones in your video, so now I can grow them with confidence (praying they germinate!)
Soil Requirements for Rosemary Plant **Ideal Soil for Rosemary:** - **Well-Draining Soil:** Rosemary thrives in soil that drains well. Sandy or loamy soil types are ideal as they prevent water from stagnating, which can cause root rot. - **Slightly Acidic to Neutral pH:** The optimal pH for rosemary is between 6.0 and 7.0. Soil that is too acidic or too alkaline can hinder the plant's growth. - **Nutrient-Rich Soil:** While rosemary does not require overly rich soil, it benefits from soil with good fertility. You can amend the soil with compost or well-rotted manure to enhance its nutrient content. **Soil Conditions in Nature:** - **Mediterranean Climate:** In its native habitat, rosemary is found in the Mediterranean region, where the soil is often sandy or rocky with excellent drainage. - **Dry, Sunny Slopes:** Rosemary naturally grows on dry, sunny slopes with minimal organic matter. This type of environment mimics the well-draining conditions that rosemary prefers. ### Recommendations: - **Garden Soil Mix:** For potted rosemary or garden beds, you can use a mix of garden soil, sand, and compost to ensure proper drainage and fertility. - **Container Planting:** If planting in a container, ensure it has drainage holes and use a high-quality potting mix combined with sand or perlite. By providing these soil conditions, you can help your rosemary plant flourish, whether indoors or outdoors.
At 4:55 you are using some sort of clone collar, do you have a link or name? All the clone collars I have seen are thick, but yours is very thin. Thank you
Thank you very much this is exactly what i was looking for. I wanted to see after you had topped and fimmed what the progress was like going forward and which produced the more fruit. That time lapse made made all the difference. Best video on this topic by far.
In an experiment the control scenario is like a do-nothing scenario or something to compare against. In this case, it was just water. Some plants in water only, some plants in cinnamon and water, for example, to test the effect of the cinnamon.
Noooo don’t cut it, It’s at its end of the its 1st life cycle it’ll regrow bigger and stronger the next year. Haha don’t sweat it I made the same mistake but I notice the roots were fine and the trunk wasn’t dying out so I replanted it and it was fine now’s it’s a 20ft behemoth making me nuts (haha) and shade all at the same time….
I think for the apple cider vinegar it’s probably due to a similar process as the honey you have to use a raw unpasteurized one that has all the living bacteria just like how the pasteurized honey didn’t help I think it’s due the raw honey having loads of healthy bacteria that soil/plants must love and I’d say the apple cider vinegar comes from the same train of thought I’d say retry the vinegar but use unpasteurized but who knows maybe it makes no difference I’m getting this from a few different thoughts pieced together but I know that apple cider vinegar is “good for your gut and health” assuming it’s unpasteurized but using a pasteurized bottle would be like just using normal white vinegar
I’m curious about fertilizer…… I have to go back and rewatch this one guy who grew a several ft insanely high aloe Vera in one of those 5 gallon air pump containers that they sell at Home Depot; I know he added something, but it was a little amount;
