Here you'll find instruction videos on how to make and decorate ceramics. I love recording my working process and some behind the scenes! I hope my videos are helpful and might inspire. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch!
Can’t you just roll out clay to the thickness you want and use a cookie cutter or something similar to cut out your round shapes? Easier and it should work? Thanks.
As a former pour painter you may want to try a base first on the surface. The colors moving is what makes those effects. We always did a base on the canvas so it wouldn't stick as bad. And roll over each other.
I’ve been doing pottery for 40+ years on and off. Now retired at 65, I have my own studio. I’m enjoying your videos, love your English with your Netherlandish accent and have learned a couple new tricks and techniques from you. Notably, the use of the micro-fiber dish mat to clean pot bottoms. Thank you from Northern California/Nevada. Keep up the excellent RU-vid videos. They are much appreciated!
That happens when the clay isn't fully centred at the beginning. But that will take time to learn, however if the wheel is shaking it's even harder to get it perfectly centered
Beautifully done and your excellent step-by-step instruction is much appreciated! Can you please provide the measurements for each piece? I would love to try to make this. Thank you!
I could hear the bumping as you started centring. Thank you for review it. i guess ppl get what they pay for. If you want a steady good quality then we'd have to pay a little more.
I love your videos and techniques. But am I crazy or did the sound just stop part way through the first technique and then start again during the third technique?
Super wat jij doet, Calder. Leuke projecten en goed uitgelegd. Het zou wel interessant zijn als je de hoeveelheid klei aangeeft die je gebruikt.... dank je. Keep up the nice work
Top tip.... never cut from the rim to the hole you cut like you did in the video, always cut from the hole out, (I've made literally thousands of yarnbowls) inside of the curl first, then outside. But reserve the third of the curl from the rim and pop it back in to help the curl dry in place (remove before firing of course!) and reduce warping and slumping during the glaze fire. Also restrict the curl to the top half or third of the bowl so there's less weight in the curl during the glaze fire. And finally, always try to make them bottom heavy. It's an asset.
