Thank you so much for posting this. I started supporting Spurs when they signed Jimmy Greaves, but was only 6 years old at the time of this match, so have no personal recollection of watching players like Blanchflower and White. This game really shows what class players they were, the saddest thing for me is that I only remember seeing the newspaper headline of when John White so tragically died, what a great player he was that I never got to see. Equally, you can tell from this what a great player Bobby Charlton was and difficult to imagine what a truly great team United would have been, if not for the Munich disaster
Simon, Thanks for this programme revealing questionable dealings by the club at one stage which led to financial upheaval & boardroom ructions further down the line!
In the last 15 years football has been ruined by cheating, diving and tippy tippy ractics..... this was football at its best with continuous play and a great atmosphere.

What a team spurs had plus Bobby Moore on the pitch wow
This is the Spurs team of my childhood. And the one I first supported. Interesting isn't it ? The shape and size of players then compared to today. And plenty of international legends on both sides on show. No arguing with the Referee; no cards shown and players who could give and take a tackle
Amazing to think I could probably recognise the names of several Poles at that time, they were that good. Kaz Deyna, Gregory’s Lato, Domarski and Poland’s equivalent of Gordon McQueen, Jerzy Gorgon.
Football unplugged. So relaxing and pleasant. Classic shirts with no patches or names, no stupid music shows in the pre game, no stupid music shows at half time, no led billboards around the pitch, subtle colors even on the terraces, no commentator screaming at every play... Perfect. The UK - and the rest of the world for that matter - was far more elegant and cultured back then.
England under Don Revie were a hoof it forwards side with no creativity despite having some very good players. Revie was no loss whatsoever when he decamped to the middle East.
Clemence was better than Shilts.......Clem lost his place because of a big arguments he had with Ron Greenwood.....apparently in 1982. Ironically, there are persistent "rumours" Clemence was invited back to the England squad after the 1987 FA Cup final........he declined.
Very enjoyable watching a proper game of old fashion, exciting football. And some say that the game is better today, but not from the point of view of entertainment, I would say!
