I like Gladys' dress and George is spitting straight facts. I wish I had a father like him, my dad just yelled he never listened to me. And he made fun of me for being single.
Okay so there's several problems with the idea of him being super smart all the time. One if he was super smart all the time it'll erase the point of other characters. What's Cisco going to do if he's the super smart one? This clip basically showed that Cisco became irrelevant because he became super smart. There's no need for a bunch of cheerleaders. Two it erases the idea of anyone being a threat to him. What are they slightly faster than him? That wouldn't even have lasted one season. The great thing about flash's villains and they aren't just all faster than him. Sometimes they're smarter sometimes they're more clever. The idea of a relatively normal person being able to outsmart him makes them a good villain. Cuz they're not going to outrun him. If you're going to write a comic about a character unless you're writing an isekai..... He has to have flaws.
The problem the idea of speed thinking... Is we have people who have ADHD and autism... Their minds are moving fast but it doesn't mean they're smarter as a result...
Let's ignore that he already should have had "superspeed thinking" to be capable of moving and acting with superspeed. That show stopped making sense when they showed him dodging lightning (season 1 or 2 I believe) and he still got surprised by anything after this point.
This was one of my favorite scenes of the whole series thus far!!! Perfect timing, wonderful acting! Turner is such a bitch don't you just love to hate her?!!! She is one of my favorite Characters along w/ Bertha/George and Gladysis.
The only thing that didn't made sense was the ball scene, that wasn't fast thinking that was straight up watching the future, if he was watching it would make sense but it was all behind him.
If you think about it when Barry says 'She wasn't the first to sue my emotions against me." that is the EXACT moment Barry realizes through speed thinking that his emotions are getting in the way so he pushes his humanity back so no one can use them against him again. Of course this backfires.. but that's sort of the point.
In the context of the song Seems So Slow / "The Ballad of Barry Allen", and other works or fan explanations that delve into what it's like to be a speedster: He's not a genius (High IQ) he's just as smart (ie Barry's normal IQ) as he usually is , but "faster" to those not a speedster. In "super speed" mode, speedsters walk around or run like a normal person would, with a lot of resistance mind you, but it looks like it normally would in regular speed, but to people in regular speed it looks incredibly fast. That is what his brain is doing. He can't comprehend complex things his brain wasn't able to before or understand new things without additional knowledge, he just has more ability to take the needed time to understand something complex he could have already given adequate time and knowledge. Which to regular speed, looks like he figured it out incredibly quickly and easily. But no, something that would take you 5 minutes plus additional knowledge to figure out, he figures out in a "regular speed" time of a few seconds, but to him it was still 5 minutes or maybe more in his super speed thinking time. "It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer." -Albert Einstein
Wells and Cisco have a great bonding of friendship. Hence why he is so emotional even though he just met the OG Wells. One of the best Duo's to exist in TV-Series history.
He has always had fast thinking. His brain has always had to keep up with his body. What is inherently wrong is that fast thinking does not equate to being smarter. A person with an IQ of 110 thinking fast is someone with an IQ on 110 coming up with a lot of 110 IQ solutions. Same goes for 90IQ, 150IQ, etc. Besides, Barry was intelligent to begin with. He is working in a crime lab trying to free his father from wrongful incarceration.
He had it already on season 2, when he literally read 5 books with Earth 2 Wells. He had time flash in episode 2, in which he could perfectly think at super speed
Wasn’t this a power he was supposed to have when he got his powers the first time ? I mean I know because he would be to OP but in the comics he does I swear the writing on this show was so inconsistent
