Hi 777 appreciate your video you made I'm looking to buy the poverty model😂 the 7 2.8 I'm not looking for Speed I'm just looking for cruising and driving it. I've looked on Auto Trader and there are some there but little nervous to buy as I don't know much about them ect if you're looking to sell the 7 2.8 i just may be interested. Cheers
Why on earth does this happen to so many BMW's? I've got a 22 year old Audi and there is no sign of the headliner or any other part of the interior falling apart.
I’d say best E38 is the 728i or 730d if you can grab either one…. For the US folks… they are screwed since 740i/il and 750i/il were the only options…. M62 and M73 engines aren’t ideal when it comes to reliability compared to M52 and M57 engines…
The way I see it is that the lovely S62 comes from an already perfect car: The E39 M5. Taking one of these off the road to upgrade the E31 is not ideal.
Hay, I’m in the process of reassembling my interior on my 750il. Doing a full refresh, I have a few bits I can’t recall where they go. Would really appreciate if you could assist me in some way plz
***YOU MANIAC LOL*** I’ve had my ‘01 E38 from acquisition in ‘05. Restoring with Halo front and LED rear lighting. Interior wood all refinished in carbon fiber, along with carbon fiber badge kit. Re-dye all leather, replace headliner in ‘faux suede’, and powder-coat the wheels to new. Suspension refurbished, next is top-engine overhaul. ***I will be buried in this car*** Cheers mate 🍻
As they say “the most expensive BMW you will own is the cheapest one to buy”. After 200ks they are cheap to buy. Not designed for affordable longevity. As a diy person this really puts me off the BMW diesels, will stick with petrol, M54 say.
@@Assimilator1 nothing wrong with mine. I did it like you and few weeks ago i went to sell my car and the guy was selling me that I did it wrong and I had to take out the head gasket and bla bla bla...
change the fluid and filter in the transmission is my number one tip with these cars. also a coolant flush is also a good idea when buying these cars. if i bought e38 I would just change all the six fluids just to be safe in the long run
Yes it does (although I'm not sure why as it is just a 'dumb' aka plain pump), the sprocket is keyed to the HPP shaft, and the sprocket (although Autodata says the shaft) has a line on it which you line up to a lug inside the case. I think you can see the sprocket marks at 10:46
Personally I wouldn't (and am) not going to bother, unless you've had any oil pressure problems. I've not heard of oil pumps being a regular problem like the chains.
There is so much rust and dirt, I couldn't stand driving a car like that, they need a serious refresh job . With time it's only going to get worse at some point you will have to change entire frame parts. Even so you would have to preferably check all those rusted frames with an ultrasound probe for eternal corrosion, before you do an entire treatment on it. I would also take the entire engine and gear box apart clean it check it for any problems etc. Cars like this are just going to break more and more in time before they are to expensive to salvage unless they are well maintained.
U hebt het over: een beest van een moter en een helse klus. Waarom gaat u niet wat nuttigs doen, voor je vrouw en kinderen, bijvoorbeeld. We zitten niet graag met beesten in de hel.
