Hi, Welcome to the channel! If you like British food, then you are in the right place. I post (Long & shorts) videos every week.
My name is Amanda but many people call me 'Auntie A' which is where the channel name came from.
I'm a home cook/foodie who loves cooking and showcasing British food. I started the channel back when I was living in South Korea as I would get many questions how I cooked and what ingredients I used to make comfort food from UK. My favourite place in the house is in the Kitchen or around the dinning table making memories and sharing life with friends and family and if you would like some quick and easy recipes then you are in the right place. Oh! Please drop in and say 'hi/Hallo/Hey' in the comments under any of the videos and if there is a recipe you would like me to make let me know.
I do youtube just as a hobby so please share with your friends and Subscribe. All my recipes can be found in the description under each video. Thanks for watching.
I'm not much of a carnivore, but when I'm in Austria or Germany.... I crave schnitzel! I love the crispy coating! This recipe looks absolutely perfect!
Ha ha I just watched the video again, I guess it does because the cheese is so white...Just so that you know it is cheese ...so don't go putting any tooth paste on yours 😜 ❤️ Thanks for watching, have a great week.
Oh yeah, this looks amazing! It reminds me a lot of tiffin, which I actually made a few weeks ago and **loved** it!! I love all the decorative white chocolate swirls on top! So pretty! 💖😻
A tiffin , I love all the different names for recipes that are very similar. One of the first videos I did on the channel was a rocky road which is also similar but you can put more candy inside this ha ha, thanks for watching , have a wonderful week. :)
One would unlikely get much if any yeast flavour from [this] short fermentation, in only 15 minutes - 45 minutes to 1 hour seems right then adding the baking powder for the additional required lift after the batter has reasonably doubled and noticeable activity has become evident
I hear what you are saying but leave it to long on crumpets and you wont get the reaction with the bubbles. This works well, and the more bubbles the more places for the butter to hide when eating. Thank you for watching, have a great week:)
@@Amandafusion1 apologies in advance but perhaps I misunderstood - did you not say in [your] video - that the bubbles would come from the baking powder? The baking powder is to be added into the batter but, only after the fermentation with the yeast has occurred and has completed. I’ve tried this Warburton recipe and there were little to no bubbles. I’m now getting the proper amount of bubbles forming making use of yet another recipe, but the cooking process on the hob takes entirely too much time and as a result, the bottoms inevitably get scorched whilst the tops look spot on - am well Flummoxed
@@tristanrl1940 Hi there , no worries❤I hear your frustration , getting the temperature right is key. I have used this technique and it has worked every time, this is why I posted the recipe because it does work ha ha From what you have said , maybe your temperature is too low. I find the bubbles appear instantly. I hope this helps?
Hmmmm how do I pick a favourite. I had many of these I love the tea cakes a lot and the gender crunch and the pink waffles and my list goes on. I love a cup of orange pico tea or a black tea for my drink of choice. Thanks for the video. Now I want a tray of these lol.
I was watching a video about the English tea served at The Ritz in London, and their sandwiches looked aweful. I like the look of your sandwiches very much.
Thank you so much , I have had so many people ask could i do another video with different flavours so this will be out soon, its on the list to record:) So hopefully you will enjoy this too. Have a wonderful week. Amanda
I love HP on grilled cheese, bubble and squeak, in beef stews, in some asian dishes, pork chops and sauerkraut casserole scotch eggs, (NEVER on bacon sandwiches!!!!!! :))) )
I love Weetabiz but it's not easy to find here in Mississippi. I often eat old-fashioned oatmeal with a pat of butter and a big spoonful of strawberry jam. My other favorite is cheesy grits--good old Southern stuff.
You did a great job prepping all the ingredients... but I was pleasantly surprised by the magical combinations! Honey Brie Bacon and Pears?! YES PLEASE! I want that right now! (It's 18:30 and I need dinner 😂)
My absolute FAVOURITE dessert for a British summer day. I definitely prefer oats in my topping. And I love having raspberries and/or blackberries in with the rhubarb as well.
Do you have a separate video about making clotted cream? I have tried making it several times in Texas. I tried three different methods, and failed each time! When I get back this autumn, I'm definitely going to try again! I will do the stove top method you showed. But last time I tried that method I obviously didn't cook it long enough because the cream was too runny. I struggled to know when it was cooked long enough. 😩
Hi! sorry for the delay in getting back to you, only just seen this message. I always post the recipe in the video description ( under the video) if this helps. Thanks for watching, Have a great week.
