The search for a grail piece is a fun journey which I have not completed either. Am a big fan of Lange, both the watches and the brand experience at the boutique. It is a challenge to even see a Patek, let alone get one, so to me that spoils things. The Lange Up/Down is a classy watch and it will not age, which is a plus. Good luck with the hunt for a grail watch.

I think you will go with Pathek to have a history for future. But in this case Lange just maybe looks better but of course you have to see a watch live.
My choice will be 1815 up/down between the two, easily. Sits better on the wrist (shorter lug to lug), has a more interesting dial, and can be worn casually on a white gold case and colorful strap. Just trumps the Patek in every way I feel. Almost all Lange watches, except steel Odysseus and Lumen models, are available at 10-25% discount with greys in US. Same case with Patek. Almost all dress Patek’s can be had at 10-20% discount with greys. So unless you want to bundle an Odysseus or buy multiple Patek’s to be eligible for a Nautilus/Aquanaut, my advice will be to go grey. Great video as always. Super episode. The movement on the back of the A. Lange looked exquisite 🎉. I wasn’t expecting that. But Patek Philippe is top-tier. You should visit that boutique more often.
It’s a shame in my view that patek doesn’t offer any 37-36mm calatravas for mens anymore ! Love this time piece but would wish that they have a smaller version of it as well.
I go the other way. I have sold my two smaller Pateks as I prefer both dress and sports watches at 40mm. I consider the classic Rolex President too small at 36mm. The newer 40mm version has better contrast with the bracelet.
Nico. I know you are german and will always gravitate towards Lange. But I would still choose a Patek if it came down to the two brands. Why not a VC Overseas instead? I love mine

Funnily enough, amzwatch's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real. You have a yacht and a beach house in Tuscany, of course that replica is real. There isn't a millionaire out there going around with a jeweller's loupe to scrutinize their acquaintance's watch. They'll just go "Oh is that a Patek? Nice, I should really get my hands on one of those, they look great."
I don’t think the sellers are scammers when they obviously tell the buyer it’s a fake and 99% of buyers are well informed that they are fakes. I think the real scammers are buyers who want to pretend they are waring a genuine Rolex, when in fact they bought a fake
