It’s hard to listen to someone who wants to sound knowledgeable but cannot pronounce Super Ten Er A. Super tenAir really sounds bad and you say it like 2o times Other than that Mrs Lincoln How did you like the play?

I do miss some things about Alberta. I'm in the Ottawa Valley now. Funny you mention cruisers, I have a Kawasaki Vaquero and looking to get rid of it for the adv type...hence why I'm here lol. I did live in St Albert, Danny Yaggey is a buddy of mine.

The windscreen/display are all things that would increase the price point of the bike - the BMW GS/KTM/Ducati are all 5-10k more making the S10 an incredible value for what you get. WIndscreens are ALL relative with any bike and winds/cross winds/buffetting can never be 100 percent eliminated. As soon as you go around a corner or change direction, that wind screen becomes a sail and pulls you one way or another, but I agree that it would be nice to be able to adjust it while on the bike. It is a bit fiddly. I bought a 2015, mine came with a Yoshima Rs4 which completely transforms and wakes the bike up. It's hard to keep from winding it out coming out of every turn. I still get 47mph. Yes, I've heard many complaints about the locks on the side cases. I"m not a fan of hard cases anyways. Mine is an ES but didn't come with them. I installed the Mosko luggage brackets and will eventually buy the Mosko soft luggage. My biggest complaint was the stock seat. I bought a Sargent seat (front only) just in time for a 1600 mile Big Bend trip. I was never sore and it's been the best investment for the bike so far. Lighting usually sucks, and Mine came with the Cyclops LED conversion and small light bar. I may eventually add some Denali yellow floods (for deer lurking on sides of roads) but these lights really make a huge diff.

Just got home from a 3500 mile in 7 days ride on my 2013 Super T and enjoyed every second. I too was going to buy a 1200 GS but the Yamaha was $6 cheaper and had all the features I wanted, as did the Beemer. Other than the Snobability I wouldn't need. Bought it new in late 2013.... I built my own crash bars and have laid it over several times with no more damage than to the paint finish on the crash bars. Having ridden many GS 1200's I knew how they rode and my first ride on the S 10 told me it was ever bit as good, and would fit in my stable of Yamahas and Ducatis just fine. I didn't buy it for a dirt bike, but knew if I want to roll down a fire trail it would be up to the task. Funny thing is it likes to run 85 MPH as easy as it does 65 mph. In fact, I think it prefers the higher speed.... So smooth! Your Video is right on the mark.

I purchased my 2018 Super Tenere 4 years ago new! Love the ride, the acceleration, the ergonomics and yes, even the price! For a very similar bike of another brand, the cost is close to double, in my view. This is the fourth Yamaha bike I've owned; each in their distinctive category. First off-road, then cruiser, the sport-touring, and now adventure-touring...the Super Tenere. They are super reliable, and comfortable to ride. I realize I should balance these comments with a negative aspect, but I can't because for me, there are none. I've travelled all around Eastern Canada, and parts of the US, and enjoyed every minute of this bike! It has all the desired characteristics of a satisfying adventure tourer. Always remember, the key to a successful motorcycle purchase is to firstly, choose the category that you need. A cruiser is not an adventure tourer! (Sounds simple enough, but, amidst all the great videos this guy publishes, I think this is where he turns up short. Just my opinion, of course!). Then, choose the power and weight you'll need to be comfortable on the highway. When you have this figured out, then the choice is much easier. ( Notice, I never mentioned looks. That's because it's not important to me.) Check out Yamaha, Honda, and similar brands. Good luck with the purchase, whatever you decide!!

Your making comparison to bikes that cost thousands of dollars more. Also you might want to have your bike looked at. I have a 2017 s10 and I don't have tje heat issues you are having. It is aittle bit warmer on that side but my leg doesn't get anywhere close to being cooked

None of those things you mentioned are issues they’re more preferences. You have to keep in mind that this bike is substantially less expensive than the Multistrada, KTM1290, or R1250GS. It’s a lot of bike for the money and it’s performance is pretty close to those more expensive bikes. In fact I think the S10 is probably one of the most comfortable adv bikes for travel. And it does pretty well off road too. Back when I had mine I put it through some pretty nasty stuff in the woods. The only reason I sold mine was because it was the first year model with no cruise control and because I wanted an engine with more punch. I bought a KTM1190 and yes it was more spirited but it was not as good as the S10 as a traveling bike. I may get a new ES model this year.

Radiator venting appears to be well in front of your leg? How is it that air hits your leg? I love the simpler LCD display. Better visibility and durability than the new fangled TFT displays.

I have looked , and looked, and looked all over to come up with an adventure bike that will go and go and go. There are very few who will do this. The AT , the T12, the T7, the BMW 800 adventure and maybe the Guzzi 850 will fit the bill. Bikes have become very complicated of late and all the technology is great....once it keeps working. ATM my choice would be the T12.

I just bought one with a dyno tune, 138hp is now 146rwhp, throttle is smooth as silk, engine breaking no problem. I tested the competition except for the s1000r and personally I think the gsxs1000f is the best ride in its class for my 6ft, 98kg frame. Super happy with my choice. I highly recommend the dyno tune

Bought a brand new 2019 ES XT-1200 last fall (2020). Best ever buy of my life! Best ever decision. Better than getting married. Perfect bike for a harsh riding like here in Quebec (lots of gravel, forest roads, mud, rain, snow, so so pavement, etc.). The ES is just fabulous: it’s even more confortable on gravel than on tarmac. I never ever tried the Touring mode, only Sport. This bike simply revolutionized my whole life.
