Hi , i just had mysurgefy 1 werk before, its 8th day today i start a getting a pulsating vibration on my dorsal foot (the downside of the foot) idk how to explain and pain in Achilles heel is it common does it go away with time..?
Thank you for sharing your story! My husband just had the same procedure and 3.5 weeks out reherniated. He’s been in terrible pain. Don’t go back to see surgeon until next week. Wondering if he’s in fur 2nd surgery too. This is hell.
Thank you for sharing your experience, I would love to hear how you are getting on or what’s changed good or bad?… I’ve had a micro at L5S1 & L4 February 2024 and almost immediately re herniated. Still experiencing sciatic pain which isn’t as bad as it originally was but still bad, really don’t know what to do potentially going back in for a second procedure but worried about the risks with a second procedure. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you
I am 3 months out from L5-S1 micro discectomy, was feeling pretty good but pain is started to enter my hamstring again and I’m very depressed about it.
Did your lumbar stick out of your back from being hunched over? That’s what I’ve got going on and it’s shitty. I look like I have scoliosis or something. Before my injury I had a normal shaped back and an athletic butt, now I have almost a rounded back all the time and my butt is basically non-existent.

Thank you! Recovering from microdisectomy a bit over one week out right now, and hoping I haven't already reinjured it. Very helpful just to hear another person going through this type of thing. It's been very lonely and people are so opinionated on how to care for this that I didn't tell most people until after I had it. I had multiple pieces of disc that had been there so long they were calcified. I also have stenosis, in my lumbar and cervical spine, and have been dealing with nerve pain in my neck since 2020. I look forward to checking out more of your videos. I feel less alone and hopeful even if I need more treatment and can't go back to work yet as planned.
Interestingly I never find positive outcome after surgery. All the people who went through surgery they never got better if this is true that I don't know why bother with surgery. I'm reading all comments and not one reporting enthusiasm or big relief after surgery. That's is so sad.
I'm reading all comments and I'm terrified that I can't find any positive outcome after surgery. Seems like people have to go back for another surgery because they having re-herniation. I'm just about going under surgery in two days since I'm having such a constant pain I see no other option but go under the knife.
I think your right i waited and suffered 7 long years no socail life lost touch with friends and also my left leg became really atrophied, lost moter controle in left leg oh and i did all the differnt treatments got some relief for a little while but altimatly i had a 13mm hernation in my L4L5 removed after 7 long years of existng like a complete crippled, yes and i rode the electric cart at the grocery,had to put a medical seat in the shower the pain was agressive and torturous and im 52 so i went from 44 to 52 with this! I also found out that the this huge 13mm herniated disk only showed up because i reqeusted that my last mri before diagnoses, and then surgery,be performed with contrast die,wich i learned from watching Utube and reading others stories,how they were repeatedly misdiagnosed all because they did not perform the MRI with contrast,you see for some people for what ever reason the herniation doesnt present itself as well without contrast,anyways, iv never forgot that so i will never have another done without the die !!!
Love how you described, I have a “small disc herniation” but it hurts like crazy. The muscle spasms are terrible, the nerve pain is terrible, I’m thinking goodness gracious, for it being small it sure hurts terribly. My spine doctor said we need to wait it out, wants me to do physical therapy and an epidural spine injection only helped for about three weeks.
I’m 5.5 weeks and don’t have a clue where I should be recovery wise. It’s an absolute roller coaster. At around 4 weeks the sciatica came back, however it’s calmed down massively over the past week. Feel like I might be getting slowly better, trying to do everything in my power to recover
Hey! How are you doing now? I hope you are all good. Have the same disc herniated and it was horrible. The amount of "jelly" that went out was so much that the pain was horrible and my genitals were kind of numb. Recently, the tingling came back a little bit, but no pain. I have to see if I reherniated it again (11 months after surgery), hopefully not. Maybe this is too late, but my recommendation is to learn about atg training and how to strengthen your lower back. There's ALWAYS a way! You got this!
best advice you'll ever here , go see dr deuk at deuk spine institute , melbourne florida , no need for microdisectomy , he'll fix that right up with a small incision ,and remove herniation w laser n grabbers , no painkillers after , free mri review , no commitment . much faster recovery
So I'm about 3 1/2 month from an l5/s1 disectomy with decompression yada yada yada. I have pain in my left butt leg etc. I'm hoping its just my nerve taking a while to calm down. Sitting in certain chairs etc makes it worse. This is my 3rd spine surgery in the last 2 years. I'm getting tired.
In February 2023, I underwent an L5-S1 surgery. Prior to the surgery, I had a conversation with my doctor about how the remaining wound on the disc would be managed post blade incision. The doctor assured me it would heal within 14 days. I had read that natural tears on discs often heal on their own due to their small size, but surgical wounds might be larger, raising the possibility of re-herniation. I took great care not to lift any heavy weights and refrained from work for a total of 60 days after the surgery. However, even after 4 months, I started experiencing shooting pain in my leg, ankle, buttock, and my back posture had also altered. Unfortunately, the surgery also introduced a new issue - numbness in my feet. This entire experience has led me to the realization that I may have made a wrong decision by opting for surgery. It feels disheartening to have spent money on this procedure and consumed so many medicines, only to find out through a recent MRI that there's a new herniation on the same disc. Due to these circumstances, I've decided not to return to the same doctor. I've lost faith in the scientific evidence behind this procedure, as it seems the doctor never disclosed key aspects, such as what a laminectomy involves, the duration of medication use, the formation of scar tissue, or the potential loss of muscle strength in the insertion area over time. The doctor's assurance made the surgery seem straightforward and uncomplicated, but it appears there might have been past cases of unsuccessful outcomes that were kept hidden from me. Since returning to India from abroad, I've turned to natural Ayurvedic treatments for relief. This includes methods like hot oil therapy, hot baths, hot water treatments, and the use of natural herbs. I'm experiencing some improvement, but I must admit that I'm still grappling with lingering fear and mental strain. This entire surgical experience has put me in a difficult situation. I want to emphasize to anyone considering lumbar surgery to thoroughly ponder the potential for failure and the subsequent steps that might be needed. Please don't rush into a decision without considering all the aspects and potential outcomes. Yes NO one talks about 2 year or more recovery journey I have had microdiscectomy and watched many recovery story. By far this the best. I think it's best to avoid moderate-extreme strengtheneous activities for the rest of your life. Or if possible even light work activities avoid as much as possible. But walk and physiotherapy alway by your side
So many young people in USA rushing for surgery make them self worse This is cuz they have this health insurance and they go and doing surgery maybe unnecessary I got bulge disc in many level for 20 years when I I’ve surgeon are not will to operate unless it real real severe I’m 67 still no surgery that because I don’t have private insurance rely on govt hospital where they operate for free with Medicare. And those surgeon not do back surgery very easy they said I will be worse or there’s are risks involve etc but now my pain get worse I need to insisting.
I'm curious how you are now. I'm ine month post op and found your videos because of my continuing pain. Already had a second MRI and talking to the surgeon tomorrow. I don't think I reherniated it. Anyway, I'm just curious how you're doing now. Thanks for sharing your journey.
