Wouldn't it be nice if they could get rid of all the electrical cables on the lamp posts and bury them? They're eye sores, especially in a supposedly upscale neighborhood like NACO. BTW, I noticed that most of the people in the Arboleda park were white. Is it because they make up most the affluent Dominicans?
Very true, those cables are truly eyesores! With regards to the white people: as far as I have observed, most of the "higher tier" of society is composed of Dominicans with more "European features". This is only an observation, I don't have data to back it up, but I believe it to be a reality and it has to do with our country's history.
Dominicans are not racists. However, we are generally fiercely patriotic and might be perceived as nationalistic because of our protective stance towards our nation. Concerning relations with Haiti, there’s been a checkered history from both sides. That said, in every Haitian crisis we’ve been first to provide aid when accepted.
12:55 If you saw a woman go outside looking like that you'd laugh your ass off and wonder what was going on in her head! How much worse is it because that was a dude?!!
Enlighten me! How can the Dominican Republic be racist when Dominicans and the rest of Hispanics are not even a race but an ethnicity? It’s like an insult to our intelligence.
Number 3 is pretty easy for dominicans; we just don't put too much effort into thinking about the daily problems; at the end of the day, everybody here just knows they are there so we can take a break by going out and partying with friends, and then focus on them. And number 4, people can choose how they live their lives as long as they don't get into othe´s. That means "don't fuck with me or my family. Not even the government can come around with that crap at schools.
Great video! I miss the ocean, the food, the music, carnival and the people. In DR most people are friendly and welcoming. Also, I like the peaceful life “en el campo”
I am (Canadian) in Mexico since a year but thinking to move... DR: Yes Great Weather but I miss automn and spring... nice to see that mountains are near ocean and easily accesible in DR. Traditional Education: Absolutely and you approached the subject with great caution so as not to be censored... I am so agree with you about that and hope the wef will not extend their agenda in DR. You convinced me. Also, there is a french community in Las Terrenas... Je vais aller visiter!... Great video!!!

Whenever I hear about the sky-high prices of real estate and rentals in New York City, it reminds me of the movie “Election” starring Reese Witherspoon. In the film’s finale, Matthew Broderick’s character relocates to NYC and ends up paying an absurdly steep price for a rather shabby apartment.
The same people self-hate themselves because a lot of them have black blood in them but will not claim it not all but some of them do not want to claim African descent
That walking bridge has been in disrepair for the last 3 years, been going to LT for many years yearly for 4-5 weeks. Last January 2024 the locals restaurants along the beach burnt down but are rebuilding and can’t wait to go sit once again with Dulce Playa restaurant
Hey PW, how are you? Do you know how far from downtown Santo Domingo is Santa Domingo Estate? Are there apartments for rent in Avenida San Isidro area? Is it a safe place for a retired senior citizen? Thanks
Hey there! Santo Domingo Este it's about 7 km from downtown. The issue is not the distance but the awful traffic. There are always PLENTY of apartments in the area for rent. Safety depends on the exact area you decide to rent in, just take normal common sense precautions when going out, and you should be fine
