I play in a fairly competitive bear league full of AAA and AA guys, and a mix of just Junior B and senior players. During Covid this guy who played 1 season in the show, and then went to the KHL came to play with us because he came home during the pandemic. He literally did what he wanted, the skill gap is so crazy, he just played D because he could just go through everyone anytime he wanted lol. so he just fed passes all game
Plus in beer league especially, you’re on the ice 3x as much on D, at least in my region. At our rink, we cap pros at 1 goal a game, except if it goes into overtime. It’s also a blast when you’re playing D, because you used to play at a high level, and someone else at a high level finally lets loose. It’s 3 seconds of bliss actually getting a chance to be competitive.
@@ryanu.4953 yeah 100% i never played that high level, junior B, and high school. But it’s awesome having someone of high calibre playing with you. Specially someone who’s still actively playing. Buddy told me just to cut in and out, and keep my stick on the ice. I was amazed at how he passed that puck. On the blade, everytime, perfect timing. I literally had to do nothing. Also his passes where like my wrist shots lol
@@itzMoJo67 I’m impressed, whenever I do heavy passes to people who didn’t play like I did it typically goes through their stick. Good job receiving it! I washed out in the qmj, and I’m pretty sure I was only there to teach English to everyone. It’s always a blast playing with my echl buddies though.
Thank you for these videos , im a winger trying to convert to a centre (due to lack of speed) so these videos help out massively so i learn where to positionally stand and where to go and not. thank you!
Hey Erik, I see you're from Norwood, where did you go to High School? A long time ago in the early 80's I played at Needham High and I also went to Kimball Union, we won the New England Prep School championship. I moved out West and played some good hockey till my hips went out in my 40's. My Beer League Team in my 30's had 5 Stanley Cup rings on it, Terry Harper had them all. I'm still playing in my 60's after both hips get replaced. Congrats on all your success and hopefully a lifetime of playing hockey!! Great Video!!
It's always wild watching this from a D-Level perspective and seeing just how fluid the skating is. Must be nice to smoothly crossover both directions and while going forwards and backwards!
@@cotefacekillah always gotta squeeze that extra buck right lol. Ya this rink looks dope and would love to play a game on it. I live in Denver and we recently took a team to Seattle to play in the Kraken tournament and their practice rink has a really dope and huge digital screen scoreboard and gym above the rink plus a really nice restaurant and bar that overlooks the rinks. But they have one rink that has windows like this that we played on in our last game. I’ve never been to Boston but would love to come skate a game.
@@ArchieCrypto Well if you ever make it out its called the warrior ice rink in brighton. They have some pickup games there fairly often. Windows make it feel like your outside in the day. Just looks out over the highway though.
Would love to see who some of the other players are in your videos. It’s fun hitting Elite Prospects to get more info, it makes it that much more interesting. Fun video once again.
