Back at it with another video! We got the NCAA regional tourneys kicking off this week. Who do y'all got winning the National Championship? Let me know in the comments! I got the BC Eagles you heard it here first.
I've been playing organized hockey since I was 6yrs old and was always good enough to be good, but never good enough to be great. ..but regardless I'm always trying to improve my game. The one thing I really picked up in your vids is you're never stationary in the o-zone. You're always moving, always circling or cycling. I feel like this is something that could make an immediate positive impact on my own play. Too often I'll catch myself standing at a position instead of moving in and out of it. I'm making it too easy to defend. So thanks for the vids and lots-of-love from Winnipeg.
Hey man, just wanted to say. Being in the same age range growing up in hockey and being a black hockey player, I admired you and a couple others at the time cause i didn't have alot of other black hockey players around me that played. Good to see youre making content.
I’m 34 now, only play once a week & when I was 19, I was getting ready for USA Prospect camp.. 6 concussions ended my career. I grew up being coached by Chris Pronger when he entered the league at 19 and I was 4 then… & Brent Harkins who played NHL & his brother Todd as well as Todd’s son now.. I remember playing 5 days a week, dryland training, special gyms meant only for hockey players & all the power skating drills you could think of… While I still play and burn through the ice, the issue is, playing once a week, I feel like half the player I once was. Your stability with the puck is gone, your speed is capped, you don’t get to take those 92 mph shots anymore. I’ll be lucky if I can rip a 85mph slapshot now or a 78mph snapshot. I miss the game dearly & I wish it was my skillset that prevented me from the NHL, not injuries you can’t control. Cheers to your future & I’m sorry you lost your dream as well from head injuries.
You’re a couple years old than me but don’t give up on it. Start small. It ain’t the skills it’s the athleticism. You can do it, you just have to put it a couple months of hard work at the gym. The rust on the skills with shake off. The erosion of your body takes work to fight. You can do it.
The human body is an incredible thing. You can recover from this. At this age it’s very very unlikely you can make the nhl but it’s theoretically possible. Start small, but build up fast. Do a lot of hand-eye and balance exercises to try to regain much of what was lost by concussions. You can do this.
Sucks your health wouldn’t let you continue on. Concussions are no joke. At least you can say you made it though not everyone can make it as far as you did. Good to see you still have love for the game. Good luck on your next venture in life, cheers 👍🏼
That actually looked like a good Beer League game, no BS and a lot of solid payers. You can always tell someone that's played at a high level, they use the points in a Beer League. LOL Looked like you were at a rink in Southie? I grew up close to you in Needham. Where did you to High School? I looked you up on Hockey DB, wow you had solid numbers everywhere you played, very impressive!! I played at Needham High and Kimball Union, couldn't make BU. Then on to Beer Leagues.
