Just watched Mr. Weatherman, and thought of you. Yikes .Milton is coming your way. This is very bad. Get ready to do more longer vids. Will this be as bad as Ian? It does not look good. Florida will become uninhabitable soon. Stay safe from 🇬🇧
@@martinheidegger517 we are still putting up shutters it’s been hard to get on the roof with all the rain. We are going to be ok here I’m in a D flood zone but I’m extremely worried about the flooding and storm surge by the coast.

Hi there, we visit fort myers beach every year. We used to stay at the sandpiper and outrigger we loved the boutique style vibe while being ocean front. The past few times we've stayed at the pink shell and it's just to large. We have 3 kids and like being mid island with a smaller resort feel. Do you have any recommendations for anything that is open amd similar to the sandpiper?
Thank you for your posts! As a longtime Fort Myers Beach vacationer, I find this valuable information, although sometimes hard to watch. Some of my best memories are of this special place.
Why aren’t they planting any more trees or palm trees ? I know everyone wants and needs the business back but part of the charm was all the palm trees. I don’t know 🤷♀️ Still exciting to come visit again and possibly stsyin !!
I was in Ft Myers Beach in January 2024, the same time you said this was filmed. I stayed at the Pink Shell. Your video makes the entire area look like a wasteland. Your viewers should know: 1) The Pink Shell is/was in full operation in Jan 2024. 2) The little bar (0:05) outside the Pink Shell is /was in full operation. I actually sat there and enjoyed the day for 3 hours one day !!! 3) The building next door (Estero Villas) was in full operation except for their pool. The pool is now open. 4) Tell people you shot this probably around 7am when the beach was still empty. For example, every day the Pink Shell puts dozens of beach chairs and towels all over the beach for guests. 5) You show NONE of the area around Margaritaville (where I spent New Year's Eve) or Matanzas, or Snug Harbor.....all of which were "hoppin'" when we were there. Maybe devastation gets you more clicks but your "tour" is VERY misleading.
Hi @rds990, thanks for watching! I both filmed and upload this video on January 15th, 2024. Also I did write in the description that the pink shell was looking good! I'm glad you got to enjoy the outdoor bar. As you can see, this video is not altered. I filmed it with my GoPro. If you think the area looks like a "wasteland" (your words not mine) it looks how it looked on this day. I do film in the mornings after I drop my kids at school. So this was probably about 8:30. You could tell it was morning from the sunlight I'm guessing. And you were right! This is an accurate representation of how this area looked on January 15, 2024 at approximately 8:30am (give or take, I'm not a very fast walker). Thank you for adding notes for my viewers! I think they may be helpful to some. I did not include margaritaville (hope you had a fun New Years Eve!), Matanzas, or Snug Harbor in this video. But fear not! I have many videos where you can see those establishments. If you have followed my channel for any amount of time you'd know I live here and have been walking the beach and putting up videos of the recovery process since 10 days after the hurricane (we didn't have power for 6 days so I didn't start to post these until after, and this kids were out of school for 3 weeks - crazy times!). Was there devastation? Absolutely. Is the area recovering? Yes it is. And I focus on showing the progress. Thank you for watching!
Very nice video! My family and I are vacationing there this coming Sunday. Are there restaurants that are up and running in the area or only closer in land?
You can head toward Bonita Beach and eat on the beach at Doc's or on the Bay at Coconut Jacks! Also check out the Corner Spot. If you go the other way into Fort Myers Beach there's plenty of places open to eat. Have a great time!
Hey! I'm sitting in building two right now watching the thunderstorm over the Gulf... If you are in town or visiting your unit let me know because I definitely owe you a bottle of wine or a Publix deli sub to say thanks for everything you did keeping me connected post Ian
