Barefoot Beach // 1 Year After Hurricane // October 2023

Sadly it isn't the state. It's the payouts from insurance companies and lack of supplies or workers.

I figured it was coming soon! I spend a lot of money paying to park on Sanibel and Captiva, but Ft. Myers Beach and Bonita has been free so far.

beach goers likely stuck it in the ground. It's not planted. This beach is reachable but the parking area most people use will be closed until 2024.

I cannot say what November will be like. I'll tell you right now, in October, you can park in the lot right before the entrance to Barefoot Beach for free, as well as Bonita Beach Park's lot, and Bonita Beach access #1 and #10. Beach accesses #2-#9 are always free but have limited spots that fill up quick. The other spots I mentioned typically are pay lots but the payment machines were destroyed in the storm. I'm not sure when they will be back up and running.

Not until 2024. Collier county hasn't set a date.

You can still walk down there, and I do, but the parking is closed. You can park in the lot right before the gates and still use the beach.
