I was thinking about it, and, facing the same direction as the plane, I suppose you'd generally want the right motor to spin clockwise and the left motor to spin counterclockwise, because the props would be moving toward each other beneath the wing, creating slightly higher pressure, and away from each other above the wing, creating slightly lower pressure, which should add a little to the lift... maybe? 🤔 Cheers.
The top one reminds me of a Greyhound that used to race in Australia nads so when you were at the pub or tab everyone was yelling go nads 😊 and g eeza good to 😊
I personally know a friend of mine who has lost an expensive F5J composite glider due to a defect in his Powerbox CORE radio. Just because a piece of equipment is stupidly expensive doesn't make it "better" or worse in terms of reliability.
AtomRC recommending the ZoHD 4S 5000 pack is just utter nonsense. Not only does it compromise CG, the current draw on launch greatly exceeds the 10A max draw spec of the battery. That said, the plane is an utter joy to fly! Thanks for the video!
after much thought, I bought the max black, but guess what? It's the same issue! I will watch this now and hopefully I can replicate and fix it! [update} fixed!!!! Thank you sooo much!
Let me just put it this way, its never failed, its always provided good feedback and its built confidence in using it. Ive had and seen high end spectrum and jr radios fail in flight due to the dumbest things. From brownouts on receiver packs to power switches going open due to cold weather change.. I keep my tx16 because i can assure the radio is up to date, i can buy the parts if something is going south, and to top it off, they've been constantly improving the software and hardware over the years. I have $3000 planes on it and small 1/2A planes on it. If i need to see a screen while flying, im not really flying and enjoying it. Id rather trust the remote and enjoy the flight.
Good engine I’ve Ben running os65ax on my engine stand more I run it better it runs once low end is dialed in it’s sweet running and prop sounds good to when hit throttle,I’m putting mine on a sig 4 star 64 ,Happy flying.
Your Max needs viagra! I've got to say...the Max in black looks quite nice. I went for the red thinking the black would be too dull, but yours looks sharp.
Do i understand you right? You sell the tx16 only because it's too cheap??? Let me guess... you have an apple phone and a mercedes... because it's expensive?
I just bought this plane and I'm glad to find someone who has the same opinion. This is not PNP! PNP means you stick an RX in and it's ready to go. AtomRC have sent me an unfinished kit which also includes some electrical parts. It's also annoying that most people on RU-vid received the RTH version for free for review and that one is almost completely assembled. So you'd think the PNP would be assembled too, it just wouldn't come with the flight controller installed. I don't mind building kits, but kits should be called kits.
Wouldn't be so bad if the manual wasn't terrible either I found out the online .pdf version at least has a wiring diagram for the wing quick release system. But in the one they sent me it's literally just "Step 5: Install wing". @@tdogrc
@@tdogrc you actually did a great unboxing, thank you 🙏 it's google's fault and their annoying double and triple ads, designed to annoy and force users to pay them for an ad-free youtube.
Pretty hairy pretty fast, that's an understatement Tim great Maiden so by the way I though, I thought I saw Stonehenge in the background when you first launched 😁👍
I fly big turbines on my radiomast tx16s .. it has a module bay. Run international and external and you have redundancy! I runs d16 internal and 900 external. Or just run external elrs.. . What you did was spend a lot of money to do something simple your current radio already did..
So in short you did trust a cheap Chinese radio so bought an other less cheap Chinese radio 😂 Always flown Graupner /JR back in days at the club. Nitro's/gasoline/electric plane and heli. Bought a X9D a few years ago. Not too active now. Only flying smaller stuff but would do the job for others. Never liked the menu structure and designs of Futaba and spectrum had many brownout issues in the first series. Way to sensitive for voltage drops and restart didn't happen or took too long. Not saying FrSky is a bad choice but it's still a Chinese brand made with Chinese components so is it really more reliable except the fact you took your old one apart. It still works now so probably it will.
MC15 35MHz and later MX12 MHz and MX16s 35MHz with Assan 2.4GHz module in it. Also modified my MX12 to Immersion RC 433MHz. Cheap transmitters are way better than the more expensive then. Hallsensor Gimball. Way more options and channels. GRAUPNER was cheap plastic too. Degrading over time. Getting brittle.
😂 yeah sort of. In my opinion the new frsky radios are getting on par with the premium brands even though they are Chinese with all the redundant systems they have built in. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. Right now I’m in the throes of setting up my INAV for my maiden flight. Was considering switching over all my Spektrum batteries, they are all Lipo. How many minutes roughly of flying time were you able to get out of a 3000? Enough for a long range flight?
Great plane from atom rc…. But their order management/customer service is terrible. I tried over 2 months to get my order right. They asked for the same pictures 3 times. The pictures were in their emails asking for pictures.(all they had to do is scroll down). They just wanted me to give up. They have one contact for the whole company. I did give up , never got refund either. Super shady business.
Since you want redundancy, then this makes sense. My TX16S II Max was flawless - until the playfighting dogs broke the SF switch which I replaced today. I have a couple of BetaFPV Literadio (2 + 3 Pro), and I like them for the weight. I also have a RadioMaster Pocket waiting for me to configure it. I run ELRS, so I like to have one Model and all my FPV quads configured the same. So, from TinyWhoops, Cinewhoop and Freestyle quads use the same Model setup. I can see why you'd want redundancy. While I have zero concerns with my TX16S II Max, I have had a wire come off a gimbal on the BetaFPV LiteRadio 3 Pro midflight. Thankfully, that was a tinywhoop, so no harm was done. For an expensive aircraft, a heavy aircraft or for anything I was really concerned for safety, then redundancy is a good option. Would I go as far as having my visual observer with a second ELRS radio on standby? Maybe...
@@German_Rc_noob ah I see. I guess the main thing is EDFs usually fly pretty fast so I would definitely recommend setting low, mid and high rates (50%, 75%, 100%) on a 3 position switch. Also I would dial in about 30%to 40% expo. Hope the maiden goes well dude 👍🏻
I bought the $900 Spektrum ix14, didn't feel like its worth the price, returned it. Then got the FrSky x20s blue version $500 with $40 4-in-1, I love the look and feel but not sure if i want to keep it or get the RadioMaster Max. I will fly it and try it out with my AeroScout with Spektrum receivers. Ill look at RadioMaster Max next $379.
With EdgeTX you can program voice prompts to sounds depending on the position of a switch. So it doesn’t actually know what mode I’m in, it’s just makes the prompt when I put the switch in a certain position. Any EdgeTX radio can do it using the Special Functions menu 👍🏻
hi thanks for your videos, I've just discovered your channel, I am also a balsa builder from plans , thanks for taking us right through the building process, including minor mistakes that can happen to us all , and through to maiden flight , thanks again from Tony from Bedfordshire
