I'm sharing the journey as I renovate a 6000 sq ft abandoned building and convert it into my dream home and workshop. Along the way, I'll be sharing the DIY renovation projects, all the DIY furniture builds, and the ups and downs of the whole process.
To see what I'm working on before build videos are posted, follow me on Instagram: instagram.com/modustrialmaker/?hl=en
Also, check out my Modustrial Maker website, where I plan to post more content, including photos and details of past projects that were completed before I started documenting my work with video for this channel.
I've been watching since the first few episodes of renovation 😁 I wanna know what up with the cricket bat on the top shelf in your studio? Is it unique or something?
At 29:00, for the master bathroom, I'm wondering if you can't "fabricate" some bent (sort of S-shap elbowed) faucets, to bring them more towards the center of the sink... It might make for an interesting piece of custom decor ;)
great journey. the end result was worth all the struggle and shite you would have went threw off camera. kind a wondering what the ex missus would be thinking now too.
Spray insulation has lead to major issues with properties not breathing properly resulting in banks not being willing to lend on them until it's removed the UK. It's interesting you were advised to install it because of this in the US. Loved watching you from the beginning. I'll miss your vids. All the best with your future endeavours.
Turn the metal door insert into a trellis and plant Grandpa Ott's morning glories under it. I've been watching on and off, and wow! It's beautiful! Congratulations!
Great to see the end of the project, though a bit hard to imagine it finished... Tough road, but great content. Thank you for the journey. Looking forward what you can make ahead of/in the basement:)
Amazing. I spent the last couple of weeks building a gazebo and thought that was a process. This inspires me to want to do more DIY projects and eventually buy a place to remodel.
1:13:21 - CARCASS. This is the correct term for the main structure of a cabinet. I know, I used t sell them for a living. And to be honest, anyone starts experiencing terrifying visions of dead animals while watching a video about kitchen cabinets simply because they heard the word 'carcass', probably has deeper underlying issues. Please don't put the 'word' police onto this channel, Carc-ass.
You might have been able to hire a professional demo company for a reasonable cost to accelerate your schedule. Because they specialize in demo projects, they can often provide really competitive costs because they have developed systems to quickly demo a building.
My auto play in RU-vid sent your video to me. I love these kind of projects. So I sat down for 2 hours and watched this project. I have laughed, i cried when you got hit with the aneurysm. I am thankful you lived through it. I am a Critical Care Nurse and most aneurysms are disgnosed on autopsy. Happy you are still ticking. Then the cat. 😢 OMG I was balling, my Rat Terrier is my rock and we have been together 14 years. I dont know what I would do without her. Then there are little bursts of surprises, like the fire and also.....wait......is that Michael Alm??? It is. I have been a fan of his almost since he hit You Tube. What a pleasnt surprise. He is great!!! Keep the videos coming this one was amazing. You are now on my list. I grew up in West Michigan and Chicago is one of my favorite cities (in the summer) i live in Fort Lauderdale now. Hate those two ominous words "Lake Effect". Tex has got it made. He has a better house than mine. Have to do some binge watching of the 50 other videos.
I came along for the ride. And enjoyed all of your videos. But you threw away a lot of money when you demoed the place . I like the end result however !
Thanks! Time and space are money... You can't install anything new with piles of trash everywhere and there was way too much to store in the building.... I still have a number of piles of bricks and beams that I saved... I wish I could have saved more, but $200 a month for a storage unit would have been more than the materials were worth
what an epic journey.. it's really great to see people succeed over years of labor and effort.. i don't get your videos too often any more on my algorithm but i thought to just search and check in.. i think everyone wishes that you find yourself a thriving interior and renovation business after this success
Just jump on youtube to waste time. Video pops up.. abandoned building to dream workshop but it’s 2 hours long! Oh, that must mean there’s a playlist. Sure enough 52 videos and the jobs already done! Click on the first video and this was the first comment. I feel ya… but I don’t have to wait.
I remember when I started to watch this series... I watched the first 4 parts and then I stopped, 'cause I was facing some health problems and didn't think I would get to see it finish. Now, after 4 years I can watch the whole thing. I'll be watching all the 50+ videos.
Can I guess what the next project announcement you may be making in association with the city grant? How about an on-site trade school for carpentry, furniture making, woodworking etc. Would be an amazing use of the space and giving back!
