Thanks for the subscribe. I bought the Sony off eBay as a tester for the street photography. I know there are better compact cameras on the market but for my purposes it really serves me well and it suits my needs. Using the zoom to the max can give pixelation still but at normal focal lengths I'm really happy with it! I hope you get on with your A5000 👍

That was Saturday at 8.30am. Nice and quiet too! Cafe photography - I’ve not heard of that before. Just sit and take in the sights and sounds. I’d imagine that being a relaxing thing to do. Not sure about the rules in France for street photography but it’d be worth checking out 👍
Having watched this video I have realised that "shooting what you see" is exactly my sort of photography when I am out. The results are usually a mixture of landscapes, close ups and micros, but I don't go out with the intention of looking for a particular subject. I just shoot what I see and thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I'm not sure there's really a phrase for this kind of photography but I'm adopting it! I enjoy all aspects of photography and so I don't like to pigeon-hole myself to one genre. There are just so many wonderful things to take a photo off. If nothing else, it encourages us to get out with our cameras right?
Really nice colours on the water, there! Really enjoyed Tudor V Carpark Busybody! Although it's hard to explain what you're doing to the kind of person who would ask what you're doing in the first place. I once had to explain to some yob in the park that I enjoyed the way the light was playing on a leaf. That stumped him.
Ha ha that was a good response. I might use that in the future! Taking photos in a public area is permitted of course but some people like to make their objections known.
Love the ambience Tudor. Photography should be as simple as possible and enjoyed. Your videos give a great vibe and inspire me to do something similar. That's success in my eyes!
I’m learning more and more that photography is subjective. Of course some images people take always give me that WOW factor but I’m learning what pleases me and that’s what keeps me engaged and wanting to take photos. Thanks for your kind and encouraging words 🙏
Nice chilled video Tudor of shoot what you see and like .your Sony Compact is a really great little camera the photos from it are brilliant and what's good about it is its size not really noticeable in your hand when out and about especially around people on the streets 😊
It is quite discreet although the landlady of the pub was questioning me. Perhaps she saw the guy before me and then there I was taking a picture of the same thing! She probably had reason to be questioning me 🤣
@@TudorSmithPhotography good thing you weren't using your Nikon with a zoom lens on she probably would have phoned the police,if you had been using your phone camera she would not have taken any notice 😅
Nice set of pictures, Tudor. My new video was planned sort of, but my preferred way of working is to just go out and take the pictures and sometimes do a video. I always have a DGI pocket in my pocket, but then I like to do the audio separately, so the recorder is in the pocket. Thank God for trousers with big pockets.😋
A common problem with this camera is a loud buzzing sound that comes from the lens portion of the camera. I bought a Sony HX20V back in 2012. Just after a years use the noise started coming from the camera. The cost of getting it repaired match the cost of the camera..The sound is still there...comes and goes..
@@TudorSmithPhotography I'm aware of that but this noise is on another level..It comes on when I switch on the camera. It seems to be a common problem according to Google/RU-vid..Sony quoted me 100 euro just to look at the camera and give me a quote. Sometimes when zi shake/ turn the camera upside down it goes away for a period of time. It doesn't seem to effect the image quality but destroys the audio quality when recording video.

Thanks very much. There is often a wonderful road scene to “spy” whilst driving. Sometimes those shots just happen when you’re there! Spontaneity is the name of the game!
Thanks Vicky. As I said in my video, so often a road is used as a leading line, and not as the main subject. I'm not sure I managed it all pictures I took but it was a lot of fun!
Tudor I would like to know if you had to do a lot of post processing with these images...I dont do any post processing with my street photography... cheers 🦘🦘😊
I’ll only do post processing where I need it. For instance I might use dodge and burn to darken or brighten parts of an image or I might add brightness, contrast or saturation. I’m not very good with anything else (like the curve thingy). But I almost always leave the polariser on the lens as I like what it does to the skies etc. I’m not that technical really. But yeah, my images will undergo post processing 👍

Nice photo and memory on the Saab 99 🙋♂️ Regarding the Subaru Legacy in Per Eklund livery (G18 VUD, Per had the G87 VUD), also that Per was the first privateer to get a factory car from Prodrive .
Things we do for RU-vid indeed 😂Valiant effort on your part, and that’s what matters 😁 you may not have gotten the shots you hoped for for sunrise, but you will someday 😉 sunset was decent though! Loved the silhouettes and pop in color by the pier, very minimalist.
Photography I think is often about best intentions - especially when you try and plan something! Sometimes though it’s those spontaneous moments where we/I can capture an unplanned moment that makes it all worth while. As you well know, it’s all about just getting out there with a camera 👍
The Sunset shots were wonderful and would have been really good to have had a fisherman 🎣silhouette at the end of the pier with the sunset in the distance , loved the end photo of the fields and sky Tudor
And that's why I only do sunrise in the winter, if it doesn't happen you not got up at silly a clock or am I just lazy. Nice video Tudor. Thanks for sharing.
Only my polariser- it’s always on the camera. I did take it off for the early morning shots though. Of course I always do tweaking in post production. It’s part of my arty farty expression. I suppose if I had any other filters I wouldn’t need to to the post production eh? Swings and roundabouts!

Totally feel you about the “do I really want to?” 😂 that’s how I felt with my Day 4 and 5 already 🤣 you did great on this one 😁 that memory mishap must’ve been painful 😢 but the DJI pocket shots were decent. I should try doing something like that someday. Not totally a failure 😎 could’ve used the smartphone and still count it as a pass.
What a struggle eh? And strangely now in my down-time I’m missing going out with the camera 🤣 I kicked myself afterwards for not using my iPhone. The camera I always have in my pocket right?
The temptation to always reach for my phone when I have a camera in my bag was becoming too much, so I clip my camera to my belt now. Looks dorky as hell but I'm much more inclined to reach for it like a cowboy now.

Well done I enjoyed all the kids I love Dover and the white cliffs standing the looking at rhe cliffs one way and the castle rhe other direction, its just a bit now a drive from where I am (Plymouth) cab I ask what model Sony cybershot you use as? I'm looking at getting one and starting photography, jeeep up the good work 👍

I’ve grown accustomed to it although zooming in too much still gives pixelated images. The walk to the beach huts is lovely, lots of places to sit down and look at the sea too 🙂 did you see that the fixtures on the huts are rusting and staining the paintwork 😮

Some nice images, and great ideas. Showing my age now, but I can remember when you didn't have to pay to visit the cliffs above the port. Many a childhood day exploring the tunnels that are up there before they were sealed off, and years later refurbished and re-opened as a tourist attraction. Being a Man of Kent (or is it Kentish Man) this series has inspired me to get out there with my own camera and start taking more photographs.
Would that have been before National Trust ran/owned the estate? To be fare they only charge for parking so you can park up on side roads etc. and walk along the cliffs. I find its always a nice place to take the camera 👍
Your a 'Man of Kent' if you were born on the Rochester side of the River Medway and a 'Kentish Man' if you were born on the Strood side of the River Medway. Thats what I was told at my old secondary school (Strood) in the late 50's 😉
@@TudorSmithPhotography Yes, late '60s to early '70s, so I am pretty sure that was before the NT got involved with the land. There was no refreshment building and what are now used as car parks were fairly overgrown. I believe the NT got involved some time in the early 2000s.
Great Video Tudor, the last time i photographed the ferry port from the castle grounds was 10 years ago all but a month, when i was based in Deal this was one of my go to places, an excellent series.
I feel the urge to do it again but I’ll wait some time now. It has given me some ideas for future photography videos though. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment along my wee adventure Martin 👍🙏
Thanks Dave. On a personal level I’d say over all the 7 days were maybe 65% to 35% success but it was fun and I managed a number of good images. Yeah that guy walking the path. It pays to look back sometimes 👍
Ah, Lydden Hill. My first 35mm camera was a Zenit E, but I changed it for a Canon AE-1, which was one of the very few cameras of the time that utilised shutter priority, as I used to marshall races at Lydden, and it was a great opportunity to take motorsport photos.
