Hey, I'm Jali! 🎮🤘I'm a gamer, metal head, and a casual player. Here, you'll find me looking at my favorite games, sharing beginner-friendly stuff, and plenty of commentary. Expect a huge dash of fails, silly moments, and some fourth-wall breaking insanity. Fellow casual care bears, and folks who enjoy the lighter side of gaming have found their space. Being a metalhead is a bonus, but not a requirement.
Or juat play a different role. Nobody has a gun to your head forcing you to play healer. I started out playing whm, got bored of it and played ast. Got tired of having to relearn the job every expansion so now i play paladin. If you are flexible with the jobs you play, youll never find the content boring. If you are forcing yourself to one-trick a single job in a role you dont seem to like, thats your problem.
I just finished it recently myself and I totally understand what you're saying. One of my biggest disappointments was that old Man Umbra had litterally nothing to do with anything. That and how the final boss fight amounted to dodging while the Lotus and Ballarse acted out a spousal abuse drama. I also agree with your Lotus choice. Mom is Mom.
The presentation of the whole Ballas Lotus and Erra storyline is...rather messy. Thankfully in the recent tennocon, we did get teased a lotus focused quest for August that (might) explain some things. But...yeah New War is all over the place.
I really think that the general quest was actually good, playing the Grineer and corpus really gave them spotlight on how they are just... Human. And Teshin was just fanservice, what first bummed me out was Teshin´s "death"... like the dude had a majour role in our unraveling, was the last Dax, dying of old age would have been a cooler death then what he got. That aside i liked the Kahl part, i liked the Veso part, though it was a tad too long, and teshin was fun too. The thing i hated was that we legit didn´t get to play much of ourselves, and even in the final Fight, it was a Gimmic over anything else. The same gimmick 6 x 2 pretty much. Just having hordes of sentients come along would have been a cooler bossfight IMO. Just a huge letdown, and storywise Erra really ruined it. all in all the Final segment just sucked for me. I liked the Drifter part a lot actually, if we had some permanent vehicle it would have been even better, idk. I think it would be cool if we could just finally use a second Arsenal Set with our Operator/drifter. And that on the new war would have been very fun. Another thing would be to make the quests ACTUAL MULTI-PLAYER. I mean it would be pretty sick if they had split the Veso/Kahl/Teshin Scenes to 3 people, additionally one playing the tenno. But that would probably be VERY difficult.
The kinda weird thing about the "Sentient Invasion" is that, for years or so leading up to the New War, there were both Rail Jack events involving the Sentient Invasion probing forces, and a moving random Veil Proxima Node where a Sentient Vessel is invading. On top of that, one of the New War prologues was originally locked behind encountering the above referenced Sentient probing ship. And, the Ropalolyst encounter came out and is set right pre-New War. So for players that were waiting for the New War, we were already experiencing some of it, and were also gaining additional insight into what was going on with Natah. All those prerequisites were removed or streamlined to get players to the New War faster. They are still there, but now essentially serve as "post new war easter eggs" if you didnt go out of your way to do them before the new war.
Fair enough... Keep in mind, The New War was released before Duviri. Idea of Drifter was just that... Idea and a promise from DE 3 years prior the New War quest. Also, The New War was aimed at long time veterans mostly. Because, after years of play, one can take things for granted... like traversal. But, pushing a player into something that can't jump 2 stories high, and giving them same map, actually gives back the perspective of how much warframes are superior. Now, saying that... What you feel about the quest is not just you. Many players kind of felt a bit down after the quest. Though, quest was for most player really fun, but DE missed the point of... "Great Sentient war" as we didn't really had one. I personaly enjoyed the quest, but I still think they missed the point of a war.
I can totally see why it didn't land. Personally I did enjoy the gameplay switch up for a bit, but was disappointed by the writing and lack of payoff for the years of hyping up a big sentient invasion. Like, what were the sacrificial and umbral mod bonuses for in the end??
That's pretty fair. I liked almost everything about it (especially *_that one_* reveal, as I'm a big fan of cosmic horror), except one thing: the context between Ballas, Lotus and Margulis could've been presented a bit more clearly. There's a gigantic rollercoaster of background lore and drama between those three--all of it related to the Orokin, the Sentients, and the Tenno--and most of it is only properly and clearly explained off-screen and outside the game, in the wikia. It made the last fight of the quest not hit me as emotionally as it attempted to do, because the whole time I was confused and asking myself just what the heck actually happened between those three characters and *_how_* it happened to end up as the psychologically abusive identity cluster***k it became.
I honestly think that the new war was made for Vets in the game or for players who have played through majority of the content before duviri. But for me the new war wasn't a perfect story telling as a i wanted it to and there were mishaps in the story telling but I was rather satisfied with it because it was a closing of one part of the story while opening up to another.
I feel like them having duviri available before the new war really ruins a lot of the surprise. It was a lot more hype for me, playing through it before duviri was in the game.
Not everyone does enjoy this, but it was designed to be a major story progression. I don't blame you for not having a great experience. Sorry you had issues, but glad you were OK with it. The move forward should be OK. Keep it up. There is still lots to do once you finish the quests.
I don't want to sound mean, but you really should start putting the effort of customizing your operator. Don't be scared to think that it costs real money. I only spent on the options that costs platinum, even though you can also get blueprints for some of them 😅😊
I like the setup but they hyped it up WAAAYYY too much. I was expecting something more game changing like Sentient invasions during our missions or something to make it feel like an actual war.
There are parts of The New War that feel like set up, but it's tying together parts of the story that feels random, so the sense of closure for the future isn't there. The New War is an experience, more than a mission, and by the end it gets tiring
They did a lot with Dragonflight that legitimately surprised me. Story-wise, it was...fine? Nothing groundbreaking, but they did not do our beloved dragons dirty at the very least. They said that Dragonflight was going to be like MoP in a lot of ways, and...they stuck to that word. This was an expansion that not only gave WoW a shot in the arm with things like dragon riding (now skyriding) but it has been a very interesting thing to watch how Blizzard has handled things with the playerbase, not the least of which, getting Ion off camera more. I know the guy is good at making encounters, but he was never good at being the face of the game.
No, Im not having fun at all. As someone whos been playing that game since 8th grade when vanila was a thing, I have to say, Im heavily disappointed of how WoW has turned out: Holy priests never dying and whose mana never drop and they also slay, op warriors, op healer druids, underpowered rogues, uneven distributed class power... and Blizzard hiring based on minority criteria which that pretty much explains how the game has become so hard, complicated and without mature humor
They did such an amazing job with Dragonflight. The world is open, there were some amazing side quests. Not to mention how BEAUTIFUL everything is. Alts are easy to level, and they really did streamline a ton.
My current problem with wow, is more about blizzard and allegations of harassment, anti-union practices and others. I don't have seen blizzard doing anything substatial about dealing with its internal problems. And every measure I seen is more about hiding its skeletons.
Ohhh boy! That's a hot button topic, isn't it? I've got several thoughts on all of that, and it would be too long to type. A lot of how I feel about it is conflicting (personally). There is so much there to sift through from what happened to their current attempts, and it's certainly up to each person to make an individual decision on how they feel about it.
@@HeyItsJali Agree, I still enjoy watching warcraft lore from time to time. I am here. But I am from Brasil, that has a strong culture of Sindicates/Unions and workers-rights laws. Don't take me wrong Brasil is not perfect, far from that, and I do agree this is not the kind of thing that individual choices will affect the situations. But as a foreign individual action and opinion is all I can give about this situation. People in US can vote and protest in favor of workers rights. Again not about individual action.
@iago314 I hear a part of that loud and clear. I come from a deep Appalachian heritage where they were all union workers, and many still are. So, I feel strongly about labor unions. The employees did unionize, by the way. It went through a few days ago.
@@HeyItsJali sounds fun. Right now I am flowing up a union of a public university, Brasil has some of those, being in favor of a corrupt governor. So it is not a clear cut subject.
@dragonriderabens9761 Ohhh. It shows up when you talk to Chromie. Granted I didn't click on it. So I figured it's available already. I just spammed through Legion, WoD and Wrath to get leveled. Thanks for the correction.
@@HeyItsJali I was basing this correction based on my previous experience after having deleted my account up until DF pre-patch, and it turns out it had changed that is my bad but BFA was the default at the time...and I didn't see DF in the footage you showed when talking to Chromie still, should have doubled checked before saying anything edited my original comment to say as much
I think the only downsides is that I am on a very different timezone so when it happens, I am fast asleep. Plus my current gadgets aren't fit for keeping any live vid on for extended periods of time while I snooze
Old gold bugframe. I got that same bug years ago in a Railjack mission, little after Sevagoth launch, I think. Maybe they will fix this next companion update.
I've always enjoyed the Kubrow bugs. They got this animation where they jump onto an enemy and maul their face off. Sometimes their size will scale up to fit the animation bones. Then bugs like this but never that big.
As an on and off player-i had a blast going to it this weekend. Im really proud of DE for experiencing such strong success and being a Canadian company. Im hella excited to explore the future of warframe and help inspire new tenno to keep going!
it's a vibe check. if someone is enjoying the game and then, upon checking out the con, they realize all the new additions are limp, it dampens that person's momentum significantly. whereas if it's hype (like the infested boyband nemesis), that compounds the momentum.
Warframe is officially in its weird era. Especially void, space-time, reality-changing weird. If you accept that, then the Infested boyband really doesn't feel that off anymore.
Though Railjack gameplay is sort of a letdown in many aspects, I had a blast with TennoLive 2018 when they announced Fortuna and Railjack for the first time (probably the best TennoLive demo so far). I wish you to see that back in 2018!!
Just wanted to add - new players matter to veteran Warframe players too. It means the game we love keeps staying alive and a lot of us do try to help as much as we can without spoiling or overwhelming them. It's why we love to see their reactions to scenes and events that moved us and made us fans in the place. This video brings me joy and I hope to see you soon, Tenno!
