I guess because I watched a random RU-vid pick on .32 revolvers, RU-vid has given me a few more. Because I commented on one or two of those, I've seen more. I picked up a Charter Arms Undercoverette in .32 H&R Magnum a few weeks ago, and have been quite pleased with the gun. Holsters have been another issue, however. Yes, it fits well in a holster made for a J-frame S&W, but the problems I've had are that the first holster tends to crush when it's in my waistband and the pistol is out, making reholstering a chore, or the belt clip didn't keep the holster attached to my belt (and thus hidden--the whole shebang fell off my belt once; happily, nobody was around to notice). I have another holster on order that should address both issues and still make for a reasonably comfortable carry.
Your test results are consistent with all of the other gel tests I’ve seen on you tube - if the bullet expands it doesn’t penetrate enough, if it does penetrate to FBI specs it doesn’t expand. I have a Kahr P380 that isn’t reliable with any hollow points so I carry FMJ in that and recently upgrade to an LCP Max that runs with any hollow point that I have run through it.
I let the wife carry the 9mm I either have 45acp, 357 or 44 on me. Stopping and knock down power, she can’t control the bigger bores. That may be the reason some guys prefer 9mm, it’s all they can control as they are little pansy’s. Lol
Ammois everything for .380's. Federal Hydra Shok Deep would have given you 12 to 14 inches. Lousy ammo begets lousy results and is not even worth testing much less make an informed opinion on a caliber.
If ruger modified the grip of the lcp max to use a converted max9 mag and changed the feed lips and follower to 30 super carry, Strengthened slightly the upper and maybe an integral comp, That would be a gun that made 30 super carry a totally different option, That would be a 13+1 and 16+1 in a gun the size of an lcp max, And maybe offer an XL model with the same grip but a 3 1/2" to 4" barrel, With that your getting a pocket gun with a flush 13 plus 1 that getting standard 9mm 115gr power and would be way lighter and smaller than even the 365, But the ultimate would be a custom designed stack and a half 30SC as thin as possible with a 10 plus 1 that would be considerably smaller and thinner than even an lcp max.
The timing of the release of .30SC was unfortunate -- I'll say stupid -- considering we were still in an ammo shortage at the time. Also did we need something above .380 but below 9mm? Some might say yes, many have clearly said no. The supply of .30SC ammo in my area flucuates, occasionally many boxes on the shelf, more frequently none at all. I remember when Academy Sports & Outdoors had the S&W .30SC marked down to $199.99 not long after its introduction. I haven't seen one for sale locally since. At another time, under different circumstances, the .30SC might've been accepted with open arms and open wallets 😊.
I generally like your videos but you are losing significant credibility having fired 32 ACP in this handgun, a revolver. Using a Beretta Tomcat, I chronograph 32 ACP and the factory ammo comes out in the 900's with my reloads in the 800's and even 700's. A LOT more than your numbers. As others have said, wrong gun. I know that controversial videos get more views, but is it worth losing your credibility?
*Honestly... it's shill videos like this is why I stopped doing gun reviews. I really don't want to be associated with you people anymore.* Tell the fkn truth. 30 super carry is a crap caliber, made to generate money from "gotta have its". PERIOD! It makes NO SENSE.
I'd be interested in 30 Super Carry, when a unique & interesting firearm comes out for it that does something different design wise; I'm not interested in another cookie cutter pistol
It seems to be an effective round and a good caliber for carry. It's just a shame it doesn't seem to have gained popularity and heading in the "dud" direction. It may become the next .45 GAP or .357 Sig: no one making that gun and ammo neatly impossible to find and if you do find it, extremely high prices and limited selection.
I would agree. There is no evidence to suggest that it will in anyway become mainstream, in fact, the fade seems to be accelerating. Thanks for viewing and taking the time to comment.
The 327 have at least some users that believe in it and found it practical. So it may no be mainstream but have a place in the market. The 30 SC, don't even have a small group of fans
Awesome review, My daughter shoots in SASP steel shooting competitions, 22 pistol and rifle both optic and iron sights. I have been looking for a large optic sight for her. This might be the sight we try out ,also waiting for some reviews of the new AEMS max from Holosun. She is going to start this year with PCC as well, have you tried the Cyelee on a rifle since you have had it?
The .38 Super was a high velocity cartridge that came along before the .357 Mag, it is a devistating round itself. It is a semi-auto round, which means that it is fired from an assault weapon.(according to the Overlords in the federal government)
My 2.5 inch went through a solid block of pine 3 inches thick using 158gr LRN. This block of pine was 40 years old, so moisture content was very low making it hard. Hard to convince me it's a weak round.
Generally, you should run hardball .32 if you want penetration. You will get about 16" with quality hardball ammo. Also, the revolver is a poor choice. One being a revolver it will bleed off some of the velocity. Second, with a 2" barrel, velocity will be much slower than out of a PPK 3.3" barrel. I really like the .32. I have an old Beretta PP pistol and I would not want to get hit by a .32 coming out of that! Great video!
Hello friend. I have been following you on the channel for a long time, is the best. Excellent video, very illuminating. I have a Bersa 32acp and i am satisfied with the benefits, being an old shooter, i understand the limits of the caliber but It is good to back Up. Best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina.
We got to have someone soon doing a test with same gun model, same ammo just moving the sight distance between the rear and front sight and see the accuracy distance but it’s just think tht would be the difference between simple iron sights and scope
If iam not mistaken this ammo was developed for use in sog p365, this why on the box 365, that first pistol they came up with some years ago with barrel lenght 3.1”, g43 got 3.5 this why went little faster, the ammo was made in a way to also expand enough and penetrate enough. When hp is shot with higher speeds in bare gel it expands faster but not penetrate enough, when slower it doesn’t expand quickly enough and goes deeper too much sometimes even not expanding at all, some ammo is developed in a way to try expand in the correct amount of time based on low speeds of short barrels pistols usually carried concealed for self defense
