I go fishing out there regularly. That water is so heavily oxygenated from the falls and whirlpool it affects buoyancy. Class six rapids, the most dangerous in the world. You guys are very lucky
I use a dji mini. There is no signs saying no drones and it's not listed on NAV Canada's drone no fly zone. However, I warning does appear on my screen telling me of possible radio interference
Adrenalin kicks in. Documenting storms. I was safe, worse case scenario I would of just been pushed back to sure. I always make sure if I'm put in bad weather the winds have to be southerly or southwest. That way I would be pushed to shore
Good catch! 👍 First time an Interlake ship did the Welland canal? Perhaps she got the contract as the Michipicoten is still out of service. The older lakers are more suited to these runs, that’s why they’re still around. See she’s not fully loaded, as the canal draft is too shallow.
This is a shocking video. You seem to nit pick everything. Also if you read up on Dublin airport noise at night. It’s limited to 65 movements. Aer lingus have a handful of flights in around 5am. So they aren’t breaking it. Maybe get your facts straight first and don’t belief what magazines say.

Ogdensburg, NY is on the St Lawrence River which means the ship will have to pass thru the Thousand Islands. I'd be interested in knowing when the last American laker transited the Welland Canal. I'm guessing it's been a while. The footers are too big.
Great video, I'm really glad you caught this arrival! I don't know if you noticed the ATB (Pere Marquette 41/Undaunted) unloading next to the Mark W in your drone footage, but they might make a cool subject for a video in the future. Both the tug and the barge have a really interesting history.
That’s extremely dangerous obviously but like I don’t think you know ow how bad they are my grandpas 22 foot fishing boat went straight up and down and got sucked under and he drowned and your on a 8 mabey 9 foot ski soo 🙏
I'm from the Grand Rapids Michigan area. I visited the canal a couple of times in the late 90's and early 2000's, and did some photography. It's nice to see websites like this now to see the ship action.
They sure do, kept very clean that is for sure. Then again, most ships look clean in comparison to some of Algoma's sailing rust buckets (former salties)
I was tubing behind my dad’s ski boat there as a kid, the boat hit a huge rock that was close to the surface near the wreck site and bent the drive shaft…. We live in Angola New York and it was a very shaky ride back across the lake with the bent shaft, but we did make it back to Sturgeon point Marina.
20:29 My wife and I remember you guys all going by our place. Not too often we see that many jet skis all together in the same convoy. Moon River Falls is a great destination.
Thank you for posting this; I was curious about what happened to her. She used to deliver salt to the Compass Minerals dock in Duluth, which is right in front of the harbor cameras so you could watch the whole unloading process close up. Will always have good memories of enjoying watching that.
Very cool... up on the south shore of Lake Ontario we also had cloud cover but where I was on the Bench, we could see the corona through the clouds with the naked eye... clouds were the perfect eclipse glasses. Totality was other worldly. The bird went silent, it was weirdly quiet and then watching the moon move away and light come back was amazing.
We wasn't that lucky my wife was in Niagara Falls and the clouds broke just in time. Sadly the clouds broke 20 minutes to late for us at Crysta Beach. There is always next time LOL
Wasn't the smartest thing over done, but it gave me the opportunity to push myself and learn more about my ski and various waves, rapids etc. Need faith in yourself and your machine.
Either the ship chef is so good in the kitchen the shipmates would rather stay on board or they are shuffling off to Buffalo for some wings or maybe both? No soup for you Nigel! 😮😢
Lol, I was there for 4 hours, no sign of life on the ship or around it, then suddenly a black puff of smoke and 15 minutes later the ropes are released. Ghost ship!!
We were just there visiting from New Zealand, the zip line was definitely a pass it was too lame and overpriced. We got zip lines all over our country and I’ve never paid for one
I think Canadians think they have the only zipline. I knew NZ had many. I wonder demographically what areas of the world do rider come from? Can't see many Aussies and Kiwis using it
