Yeah you pretty much nailed it. It's an incomplete game with a lot of flaws. But none of its fans love it for any reasons to judge a video game. We love it because it let us get fully immersed and live in the story and world that we loved so much! We ignored the issues with pacing and explaining the plot because we already knew the story by heart. (And the timeline and plot was "accurate enough" lol, the game designers got probably a C+ on staying true to the source material.) The poor mechanics didn't matter, because we were having so much fun exploring and defending the incredible island of Mata Nui. The graphics and resolution was pretty poor even for its time, but the designs were still beautiful. It absolutely could have been A LOT better. But what we got was still hella fun for fans of Bionicle. I can list a lot of complaints if I encountered this as a more critical adult, but I can list even more wonderful parts from playing this as a kid. And nostalgia is still strong enough to enjoy replaying now that I'm older lol
I think if there was gonna be a buff to the green rail, it would be interesting if it created an artificial weak spot on the enemy, where any attacks that hit the screwdriver while it’s in them deal double damage or something like that. Maybe then it might actually see play
If you pair both the screwdriver and overcharge nailgun you pretty much get a shitton of damage on enemies, helped me alot through prime sanctums alot and the screwdriver saved me alot on bossfights when i was low on health
I genuinely can’t tell if this is a shitpost or not because it seems so complicated for a fucking size 2 fish but hakita would absolutely do it for the funny
What I noticed from all these comments is that the screwdriver is a beginner-mid skill weapon. The thing carried me through pinos and sisyphus, but just in my first time. More advanced players dislike the screwdriver because they are more efficient at killing higher tier enemies. All that cool tech you see them use is precisely why the screwdriver doesn't fit their playstyles at all, so they dislike it for that. It's more of a beginner's weapon than a professional's, and that's okay. We all have our own style in this game, and that's very unique.
Coming from a absolute sweat (700 hours, top 25 in P-1 speedrunning) you're right! Of course people like pure effiency and speed rather then passive healing! But everyone has got their own playstyles lol play how you want
You can get a damage boost by moving really fast and punching the drill. The gigacorkscrew punch makes it worth it to me. Its my favorite railgun and the one i use the most.
my run on this game was so chaotic, i trickstabbed the cutscene gargoyle before he reached the guard while jumping, killed goat with canesword and got shotgun at the very end of the game
I somehow found a size 2 dope fish on my first playthrough of this level. I am sure it was a size 2 fish and I just thought that it was size 2 because the dope fish looks big.
The screwdriver carried me through bosses and rooms with a bunch of enemies, i attach it to a beefy enemy then i proceed to kill the annoying and weaker ones. The screw driver should be used as its intented, a blood giving gun
