METABOLIC HEALTH MEASURES OUR BODY’S RESOURCE USE EFFICIENCY In our modern society, our bodies are under a constant state of assault from excess carbohydrates, processed foods, chemicals, pesticides, stress from being overworked, sleep deprivation, sedentary lifestyle, blue light exposure and a host of other harmful bodily disrupters. A large majority of American adults are now metabolically unhealthy meaning our bodies are utilizing resources extremely inefficiently. Dr. Makary, your words are so very true!!!! Unfortunately you are wasting your breath because the majority of people do not look for the long term effect when it comes to their eating habits and types of food they consume. I have had many conversations with friends who drink diet soda constantly, who eat at fast food regularly, and who think one more pharma pill on top of the multiple they are already taking is just fine. No one will ever change the lifestyle in which they are embedded.
We agree that behavior change is the most difficult part of the problem. Some people don't even know they are harming themselves though, which is why we think the free sharing of these topics is so important. Thank you for watching!

Dr O has everything right. What an impressive person he is! But keep in mind, he advocates for 3 to 4 day fasts on a weekly basis. That is a Herculean task for most people, if not impossible. I look so forward to Dr O working with people who eat clean WFPB diets. I am of the belief that the same type of success that he sees with his patients adopting a keto or carnivore diets can also be seen with WFPB. Thank you gentlemen.
