I’ve always loved these trucks. I remember, as a young boy, watching the show people arriving and setting up near my house. They had a brown coloured Atkinson double axle KAV44F.
Great video. Would love to know more about its early history. Was it used in infrastructure projects to support the war effort or did it make into Royal Engineers or Pioneer service with the army?

That was a period of time when a British Lorry actually was styled with look's in mind, these Atkinsons, AEC, Foden etc were good looking old girls. They had character as well.
@@Mr_b_yorkshire_farmer Hello Mr B, thanks for your reply I don't know if you're aware of this but in the October 2020 edition of Truck & Driver magazine, there's an article in there where a guy has built an exact replica of the Mack with the tank trailer from the film Convoy It's right here in the UK too His name is George Matthews, he's also built a replica of the Kenworth W900 complete with the box trailer too from the film Smokey and the Bandit Is the Mack in your video the one owned by Mr Matthews or is it a different one?
@@paullloyd6821 yes I think it is this wagon. It has been passed around a little now and I for the life of me can not just remember. But I believe it is.
My brother in-law used to drive one for limmer and trinerdad. They were very fast. He used to haul Asfelt down to North Wales from Clitheroe, Lancashire back in the day.
Fantastic video Mr B. Your atki with the 220 Rolls video is a real reminder for me. I very often sit with my head phones on listening to the rolls puring. My dad used to have an ERF b series wiith a 220 rolls in it. Your video takes me back to very happy times riding with my dad sadly no longer with us. Thank you for the memories. Keep em coming.
