A short video is me driving the old Australian Atkinson across from Yorkshire to Cheshire. Going over the Woodhead pass and then across to Manchester then onto Kelsall. Running at about 18 tons, just enough to make the Cummins sing
Another great video Mr B. It’s nice to see a familiar road A628 over Woodhead. Better still watching you driving over it, makes a change from me driving over it. 😊
Love it. I cut my teeth on Gardner 180 ERF's running out of Cornwall wit Richards and Osborne, hauling china clay, and ooccasionally was let loos on a 220 Cummins Atkinson Borderer. Absolute magic! A great video!
Have to drive the Atki like a car, vigorously stirring the box to keep the Clessie Cummins on song, regarding the seriously cool cab, Atkinson sent out wagons to their Australian Factory in kit form ,the cabs being sourced from a reputable Australian coachbuilder . Could do with a box swap, a thirteen speed Fuller Roadranger with an overdrive top, .Having a bad case of dropsy, over rev in one gear, then change down only to find the rpm rapidly drop off as the ratios are too wide for the spinning Clessie Cummins to cope, she aint a plodding old Gardner .
