In my experience growing up around trucks and occasionally working on them now is that CAT, Cummins and Mack are by far and away the most popular, especially for long haul/rural transport usually fitted to KWs, Macks and Western Stars. Quite a lot of them reaching the 2-4 million kilometre range despite the abusive conditions. The euro gear usually appears in the cities, mostly as rigid bodies or semis. Shoutout to the old girls still trucking out there, like the Whites, Leylands and Bedfords
I don't think electric is the future. more like a dead end because of limited resources. And the infrastructure in Australia will not be supported because of two things you mentioned: sparsely population and vast amount of land
No, they can't. I don't need to watch it to know the answer. What happens when there is a MALFUNCTION? Humans can usually solve non-standart problems, CAN DRIVE with a malfunction (flat tire, stalling engine, maybe other issues), and can navigate non-standart OBSTACLES.
Do you remember the movie Logan? There is a part where he helps that family on the side of the highway. Next to them on the road, self-driving trucks are constantly driving. The self-driving truck was already there. This technology will spread as soon as it becomes available and cheaper, because companies will be able to save huge amounts of money. This will not be the first profession to disappear. Little by little, they are automating everything, from delivery to loading and unloading, to charging the battery, everything.
There is no such thing as climate change. It is just a means for the elites to make money and force communism on the masses. Actual real factual science proves that "climate change" is nothing other than a hoax.
CO2 is harmless. Time to relax overreaching emissions standards a bit. Engines were running clean long before these ridiculous new standards were implemented. Now they’re costlier to operate and helping drive up the cost of living.
Sorry don't buy it robo taxi's have been a huge failure no one is going to trust an 80,000 pound truck to drive on its own electric truck are no good either.
@@TruckTropia Thanks! For the link to your YT on Jake Brakes. I do wonder, though, what the technology will be with EV trucks to emulate the 'Jake Brake'?
I’m sorry, but the interior looks more like a pickup truck than a tractor trailer. I fell in love with Peterbilts because of their pride and class. I see less of that with the new generation..
