Olive oil was used for cooking in ancient Israel -- so unfortunately I can't believe anything in this video even though I know that modern seed oils are not good for our health...
The two metaphors used for insulin resistance (IR) - "the cramming in of passengers into a vehicle until there is no more room for others" and "the forceful opening of a door to be able to enter" - helped me understand better what IR is. Thank you very much to the lady who asked the question on these metaphors and to Dr. Bikman for his enlightening answer. Also, I may have listened to Dr. Bikman's earlier videos on IR, but it's only now that I realize that high IR level does not necessarily mean high blood glucose. Yes, for me, I often have to listen to 2 or more videos on the same topic for better understanding.
Just wanna add a comment I’ve followed Jason Fong for a long time. I found one of his books on Amazon. I was type two diabetic. I lost a good pain job because I was a driver and I could not go onto the next phase of the job, I discovered I had diabetes, found his book follow the steps took me 90 days to control my diabetes. I went from A1c to 15 and I learned fast for seven days and I went to 5.27 days. Take me 90 days to get to where I could fast for seven days you don’t try and fast, very long at a time when you’re starting and your body is getting used to it. I’ve been within range for about four years now take action find one of his books even has recipe on what you can eat or drink during a fast. It’s well worth it. It changed my life.
I have a question - we're in the middle of the 6th mass extinction and have broken 6 of the 9 planetary boundaries. It seems to me that at every level, we need to abandon industrial/chemical farming practices and move to regenerative agriculture (the real thing, not the 'no till plus glyphosate idiocy' and eat local diets with some meat, but not as much as we're eating now. And I wonder how this is compatible with the concept that we need ketogenic diets for our mental health? In other words, how do we heal both the ecosphere and ourselves?
Nonsense. Boundary 1 being the climate hoax - from a planetary perspective, CO2 is towards the lowest of values it's ever been, some 10 to 20 times less than the Cambrian period say with the associated detrimental impact on C3 plants. And that's even before we get to Will Happer's brilliant paper on saturation. Sorry, these boundaries have been conjured up by activists
i do 20/4 fasting, and i have for a while now. im at a plateau now, but i dont really watch what i eat. I'll be trying to eat healthier, and I've started to work out/walk. I've always had low blood sugar. it's gone away. Ive done a few 48 hr, and one 96 hr fast. its amazing how good you feel.
Just found out I was type 2 diabetic. My doctor told me that I need to eat breakfast because I had been skipping breakfast and not eating until 12:00 or 1:00. She thinks that is what caused me to become diabetic. So should I eat breakfast and stop eating at 3:00 pm
Should have included eastern society in ur research where we have used cold pressed unrefined vegetable oils of mustard, peanuts, coconut and sesame seed oil
Seed Oils and Health Seed oils, such as those derived from soybeans, corn, and canola, have been scrutinized for their potential health impacts. High in omega-6 fatty acids, they can contribute to inflammation and related health problems when consumed in excess. However, they are just one aspect of broader agricultural and dietary concerns. Petrochemical Agricultural Industry The extensive use of synthetic chemicals in agriculture is a major concern. Here are the key components: Ammonium Nitrate and Synthetic Fertilizers: Ammonium nitrate and other nitrogen-based fertilizers are widely used to boost crop yields. These are often derived from natural gas and have significant environmental footprints. Overuse can lead to soil degradation, water pollution (eutrophication), and the release of nitrous oxide, a potent greenhouse gas. Pesticides, Herbicides, and Fungicides: Chemicals such as glyphosate (a herbicide), neonicotinoids (insecticides), and various fungicides are used to protect crops from pests and diseases. These chemicals can persist in the environment, harming non-target species including pollinators like bees, and entering water supplies. Synthetic Chemicals and Additives: Thousands of synthetic chemicals are used in food production and packaging. Their long-term health effects are often not fully understood. There is concern about bioaccumulation and potential endocrine-disrupting effects. Environmental and Health Impacts Pollution: Runoff from farms can carry these chemicals into rivers, lakes, and oceans, affecting aquatic ecosystems and human water supplies. Soil Health: Intensive chemical use can degrade soil health, reducing its fertility and increasing dependence on chemical inputs. Human Health: Exposure to certain agricultural chemicals has been linked to various health issues, including cancers, neurological disorders, and endocrine disruption. Corruption and Criminal Syndicate The agricultural industrial complex is riddled with corruption, payoffs, and kickbacks. Large agrochemical companies, functioning like a criminal syndicate, exercise significant control over agricultural practices and regulatory policies. Their influence is vast, and they employ covert and indirect tactics to eliminate anyone who attempts to criticize or expose their operations. These tactics often involve highly accidental techniques, making it difficult to directly link these actions to the companies involved. Lack of Transparency and Testing Testing and Regulation: There is a lack of comprehensive testing and regulation of the cumulative effects of these chemicals on human health and the environment. Corporate Influence: Due to corruption and the influence of these powerful entities, there is a stifling of independent research and criticism. Whistleblowers and researchers often face severe repercussions, deterring investigations and public discourse. Advocacy and Solutions Sustainable Agriculture: Promoting organic farming, permaculture, and other sustainable practices can reduce reliance on synthetic chemicals. Crop rotation, polyculture, and the use of natural pest predators are alternative methods to maintain soil health and control pests. Policy Changes: Stronger regulations and independent testing are crucial to protect health and the environment. Supporting policies that reduce chemical use and promote biodiversity. Consumer Awareness: Increased awareness and demand for sustainably produced food can drive change. Supporting local and organic farmers, and reducing consumption of heavily processed foods, can decrease the demand for chemical-laden products. Research and Advocacy: Continued research into the long-term effects of these chemicals is needed. Advocacy for greater transparency and accountability from agrochemical companies can help bring about necessary changes. Addressing these issues requires a multi-faceted approach involving consumers, policymakers, farmers, and scientists working together to create a more sustainable and health-conscious food system.
Silicon Valley types don't let their kids play on social media because they know how addictive and destructive it is. I wonder what all these seed oil producers, advertising execs, and "health" professionals feed (and don't feed) their kids.
Your commitment to both adopting and promoting transformative technologies such as generative AI is truly commendable since, in my opinion, it serves as a shining example of how a company can strive to enhance its organisational efficiency while also making a meaningful contribution to enriching the ecosystem in which it operates - fostering shared, social, and inclusive progress. For this reason, I am genuinely honored to contribute, in my own small way, to this admirable effort. Thank you. Antonio.
Thank you for having me. Discussing these emerging technologies was a pleasure, and I look forward to continuing conversing and exploring more groundbreaking advancements in Swiss Re's IT strategy.
Fantastic interview! Antonio Grasso's insights on AI risks and the insurance sector were particularly impressive. His expertise as an entrepreneur and technologist added great value to the discussion. Thanks to Swiss Re for this enlightening video! 👏🏻
The fix to poor sleep can be as simple as some good sodium like Realsalt, pink salt, or Celtic salt. I take some before bed as well as a few shakes here and there throughout the day. Salt prevents a cortisol dump in the middle of the night , which is what can wake one up. In other words, it’s simply physical stress, not necessarily mental or emotional stress. This is an important distinction, otherwise everyone will quit their jobs and any other challenges in life. It could simply be physical stress from lack of minerals/ salt (not table salt, it’s sodium chloride). See the “J” curve on salt intake with the more recent research , not old 1950s guidelines. Talk with your doctor if you are salt restricted.
Phil Sokolof, campaigned to get McDonald to switch from the harmful beef tallow to veggy oil. Ironic that Phil died of a "heart failure" later in life.
Intermittent for 2 months, low carb and type 2 diabetes on the monitor to read my numbers I cannot for the life of me go to 200 and drop to 59 every day my graph is just crazy. And also exercise 6 days a week. Help!
There appears to be considerable research showing that consuming vegetable oils does not result in an increase in CRP/inflammation (see Nutrition Made Simple, Gil Carvalho, RU-vid video posted 10-17-22), so some say they're not a problem. The decades-long trends appear to indicate that they are a very significant problem. How does one reconcile these research findings with the health effects described by Nina?
Wonderful presentation by Dr Ludwig. Important that this is at SwissRe, one of the big 10 reinsurance companies globally. These are the guys who must push their customers ( Aetna, United Health, Blue Coss etc) to lower their claims by focusing on risk avoiding programs. This will drop the costs in the system. However, as always with insurance, there is a massive conflict of interest. Insurance companies and reinsurance alike benefit from higher premium prices. These funds ( premiums) go straight into their float, which is invested in the markets. More float, more return on equity. However, as it it a commodity business, if one insurer rewards customers with cheap er policies by following LCHF lifestyles, and gain market share, then others.must follow.
I believe in personal responsibility.. I would not take WHO, NIH, AHA, ADA, or any government recommendations seriously until I know for sure it’s right. These agencies don’t have the best interest of the people at heart.. most of them have been compromised paid out by big pharma and the sugar industry…
Mental health issues are mostly emotional in my humble opinion.. it’s an anger issue that only good religions community can solve… these people don’t need medication.. they need to learn to forgive and stop being so angry and hateful.. that changes their chemistry to where they develop mental state of mind.. to many mental medications have side effects of suicide and homicide..
It’s obvious to me the WHO doesn’t have the best interest of health for people… look at their recommendations on the coronavirus… the WHO and WEF want depopulation so I can’t trust any recommendations from them..
I had been on a low fat high carb vegetarian diet for years.. however I had periods of weakness and now I’m pre diabetic..I’m looking at carnivore to lower my blood sugar
