My tomato leaves are turned a little yellow. Do you think it’s OK to use worm casting and fish fertilizer together?
@CaliKim29
@CaliKim29 11 часов назад
Yes, absolutely, Angelica. Yes, it is generally okay to use worm castings and fish fertilizer together to address the yellowing of your tomato leaves. Both are organic fertilizers that can complement each other and provide a balanced nutrient profile to support healthy plant growth. CK

Hi Kim! I ordered one of your late summer seed collections about 7 years ago. It gave me a much needed boost after a late garden start that year for me and I got a nice harvest. It's a favorite garden memory for me :) I now always start new veggies now in July thanks to your encouragement!

Awesome idea, I was wondering what kind of low cost materials I could use! My crimson sweet has at least 1 fruit successfully pollinated. The 1st fruit opened during a rain storm and now the 3rd and 4th did the same today 😂 1st one fell off, and right before the rain I put up umbrellas and hand pollinated, so 🤞 Now to set up supports. I’m using a nylon netting (vigoro) for the trellis, but I don’t know if I trust it to support to weight of a melon 😂 so I’m drilling eye hooks into the wood supports of my trellis platform and then I’ll be using paracord to make a net-like support to hang it from. Idk how well it will work in the end, but gotta try something! The worst thing to do is nothing. Thanks for the content ❤

Spearmint Recipe - soup : I learned from my mom and grandmother to make a delicious soup made with spearmint. (To be eaten warmed up or hot never cold.) Boil water in a soup pot, add salt to desired/preferred taste, add spearmint not peppermint or others (lots of sprigs like for 4 cups water 4 sprigs), and add butter (unsalted if already salted water) a tablespoon for 4 cups water. Let all come to a good boil and remove from heat. Now, add EGGS (without shells) into the pot and DO NOT STIR WATER ! JUST COVER the pot and let eggs poach. In about a minute or two you can put the pot back on the element that should still have some heat from having boiled the broth, and DO NOT TURN ON HEAT. The eggs will cook with that residual heat. In 15 minutes or until egg is cooked/poached to liking, taste to be sure saltiness is to liking (adjust if need be) and serve in a bowl and cut the poached egg which will make the broth become slightly creamy from the egg yolk. Optional to eat the spearmint leaves that have cooked, softened and reduced it’s pungent minty taste. Can add some water-crackers or saltine crackers or chia/flax seed crackers..etc.. into broth or just eat it as a protein soup without crackers. Can also add raw watercress or raw spinach to the hot broth in the soup bowl and YUM !!! YUM! YUM! EVEN BETTER THE NEXT FEW DAYS !!!!

Great video. I found that using containers that are 10 gallons or larger works for me. I also put smaller pots to the north or east of larger pots.

hi Kim, i wanted to know if the temperature is 85 degrees but it feels like 95 degrees and it last for six hours should i cover my tomatoes? Do i go by the actual Temp or what it feels like? I also wanted to know do you drape the shade cloth were the plants are totally surrounded by the cloth or do you leave one side up? Should i uncover the plants if it is 85 degrees and under or can i leave them covered all day for several weeks or months? Some flowers have dried up will i get more flowers?

I wasn't able to interact on the live but Okra is not one of my favorites. Gumbo is the only way I'll eat it. My husband loves it so he is excited about the burgundy okra. Kim I will always be a viewer as long as you are on youtube. I love learning. Please you and Jerry take care!

Hi Kim, thank you, you are so helpful. You solved a big problem between me and my partner! He won, 😂 but I wonder if we do it your way, what about the leaves that are under the node? Some are ab 3-4 inches and I wonder if they just keep growing until it’s their time to be harvested?

How about the leaves are they good for consuming
@CaliKim29
@CaliKim29 День назад
Yes, celery leaves are good for consuming. They are not only edible but also nutritious, containing vitamins A, C, and K, as well as antioxidants. The leaves have a more intense flavor than the stalks, making them suitable for use as an herb or garnish in various dishes. They can be added to salads, soups, stews, and smoothies for added flavor and nutritional benefits.

The water bottle tip was genius! My shade cloth kept getting stuck on my bamboo poles that are taller than the tomato cage. I used this tip today, since the forecast is 94. Wow, the shade cloth just slid over the water bottle, no problem. Thanks for sharing this tip.

I'm using thin white permeable Agricultural fabric I use as frost protection as shade cloth. Time to invest in proper (maybe 40%) shade cloth. 95 tomorrow here Monterey bay inland. I shall clip it up over my seedlings! 🌱
