Ethan created Hello Road and started making car/travel videos as an excuse to get off his butt, go on adventures, make new friends, discover new things, travel to amazing places, and of course, justify his countless questionable automotive purchases. His infatuation with weird cars along with a shoestring budget often leads him to filling up his driveway with a brigade of terrible, failing hoopties.
I had an 89 F250 , and currently use a 2017 F150 xl as a work truck. Realistically the truck is just built taller and the nose sits alot higher. Interior wise its pretty close and id say my old f250 is even a bit wider on the inside.
Did you not have an OBD1 scanner capable of talking to the computer? Sometimes you can dump codes with a paperclip or by cycling the key 3 times. A failing fuel pump might have set a code for an unexpected lean condition.
It stacks up amazingly well in value, especially on the used market. I just got one days ago that's 4 years old with just 22k on the odo and still smells new. Less than $15k off the lot with a 10yr 100k warranty. No other EV can touch that for what you get.
My dad just traded in his 2004 Toyota prius on a 2024 Taos SE model AWD car. I swear it is on good looking vehicle. I stand 6'1 and weigh 320 lbs and I have plenty of room setting in the driver's seat and have lots of knee room when I sat down in the back seat behind the driver's side. I look forward to ever getting a chance to drive it. Growing up in the 1970's up into mid 1990's out family owned 4 different Volkswagen vehicles.
@HelloRoad I totally remember drumming coming from there in the 90s! Too funny man, small world. I was the house with a Richard's fuel van in the driveway. My parents sold in 02. Take care neighbor from the past!
@@thesearemine8098 Haha yeah that was me making all that noise! Small world indeed! I remember the Richard's fuel van!! My parents moved there in 1976 and left in 2020. :)
I worry about the US auto makers. These electrical vehicles are a left wing fad just like man made global warming. It's eventually going to come crashing down much like the Biden administration. FANTASTIC CHANNEL! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! GREAT WORK 😊
There's such a cool factor of owning a vehicle from that era, especially if you've lived it. Many vehicles, especially if the vehicle is an import, could be challenging to find parts for many of these vehicles. I have a 1990 ford ranger extended cab and we're in the middle of doing a V8 swap, putting in a 5.0 HO EFI from that era and fortunately it's still easy to get parts for that engine design since it's still popular. I was born in 1970, so my entire teenage life was from that time and it's so cool now that I can have a moment to return there when going for a drive in my old truck with the windows down and cranking out an old 80's tune. Just the form of therapy that I need from time to time.
I had a 94 silver GT 5 speed with no spoiler and no rear wiper. Extremely rare. to not have either. That was my favorite car back in the day. Had the chrome 16's with bridgestone potenzas. It was slow but handled like a slot car.
I had the gen 1 impulse and they have a major defect in the rear axle and drive line. And parts are non-existent so pass on these. Unless you can figure out a way to modify the rear end
I had a Fox wagon, my sister had an NX2000. And I have a soft spot for the Impulse as its basically a Japanese take on a mk1 Scirocco, of which I also had.
I bought the 89 Ford Probe. This car is responsible for my love for Mazda. It was the most incredible car. It had to be replaced in 95, with another Probe. However, it didn’t have the same personality or performance as its big brother. Automatic transmission after the 5-speed, could have been the reason. Magnificent car, still miss it. Now have a 2013 Mazda CX5, which I bought new. Still thrilled with the impeccable reliability of this phenomenal brand.❤️
Yeah, he knows it's a transfer case. Sean's first time on camera, probably a bit nervous, when you shoot a quick vid sometimes there are a few slip-ups :)
I'm 29, I've owned only 2 cars & driven about 10 in my entire life, I used to love cars when I was younger but I don't like them that much anymore - I hate traffic and dealing with car problems.
Really interesting to see all these and amazed that you can remember everything! My total is probably similar, so far, but I have a lot of work to do to list them all. Hey, excitingly, I saw a purple Probe the other day, and thought of you!!
Think about how much tax and registration fees the government collected on all those transactions. Thank you, good sir, for keeping the economy going!!
