Ok, thd rolling and jumping sfx definitely inspired from jack and daxter. I thought some of the weapon effects and sounds had a similar feel to em. This is look very nifty.
Hey, this looks great. The Fox model looks fantastic, super accurate to the era you're trying to imitate. Nice work. What are you looking towards when it comes to rewriting it for Quake? Are you going for a specific source port? I've been a little interested in Nuclide/FTEQW for a few years but I'm always curious what the best options are for Quake-based gamedev.
I might, but I do want the game to play more like Jak & Daxter and the first Ratchet & Clank game which does not feature any lock on strafing. Jak uses a form of auto aiming which is decent at best and one of my goals is to improve upon that.
You cannot get a license for goldsrc anymore and you could not sell this because of it using the Half-Life sdk code for the game. That's why I'm going to continue this on Quake.
At the time of this video the game was on Half-Life's sdk (goldsrc) and ran on Xash3D (Quake engine branch thats made to be Goldsrc compatible). It will not be using Quake for the game code and possibly still Xash for the engine but I'm not too sure yet.
I wonder if this game will be a kind of satire like Conker's Bad Fur Day was back in the day? Being a game that contains black humor, fourth wall breaking moments and pop culture references.
*KIRA QUEEN DAISHINO BAKUDAN: STONE KOLD KUREIJI* The fourth bomb that automatically activates when someone (within the stand range) is in the state of confusion, can’t think of the next action, or when they can’t reach its action’s destination/cause mid-way. Ability range is 50 meter from its user
That's really neat! Hopefully there will be continuation with Quake 2, 3, Doom 2020 etc., up until something with hyper realistic graphics made in UE5.4 or later with lumen, nanite etc.
Oh I see, you're running it under Windows instead of DOS directly. And I'm afraid your computer is infected and going wild on the registry, so... That's why you see Armor instead of Lives.
