I get so tired of the coin clean nazis! Try to ask how to make an old coin shiny again gets their panties in a bunch! It devalues it and I will never buy it they yell! Well nobody was trying to sell it to you! It's OUR coin! If I had all the CC Morgans, 1877 penny roll and I want to stick em in my derriere then they gonna be stinky! Some of us people just like to be able to see the features and enjoy the shine. So you can offer your value advice just in case they somehow haven't been preached at already or read it being done to someone else and then let someone answer without fear of the cleaned coin KGB! I clean 50 coins every time I see them preaching so if you read this and your one of those people, know that you have caused hundreds of coins to be nice and shiny!!
So, after you cut a piece off the manilla envelope, then what do you do with it? Use it to write on? Use it as toilet paper? You put the coin inside with the big hole to touch the envelope bubble wrap or mail it for grading immediately?😂
Good grief, this is made for an idiot right? do you need to tell people how to put vinegar in the bowl? And before we clean more first we need to get more pennies, duh, then you say put the two coins in the dish, do any people just put them on a table while doing this? FFS

This comment section is absolutely hilarious! DON'T CLEAN YOUR COINS IT LEAVES MARKS AND RUINS THE VALUE!🤦 All circulated coins have various marks,dings, swirls, ect !!! Unless you have a verified uncirculated coin it doesn't matter if you clean it in certain ways.. Coin collectors specifically look for pristine condition coins for their collections, they don't want nasty blacked dirty old coins, you have to be able to clearly see double stamping, dates, errors and so on... Definitely don't use harsh chemicals or brushes on your coins but it's fine to use gentle cleaners with microfiber rags.. There's literally videos of well known ,respected collectors using 100% acetone and ear swabs to clean coins and they don't get knocked in grading for using that method...
What hes forgetting to say is that if u have a valuable coin do not do anything hes telling u to do. The value of the coin will decreas to pretty much nothing.
There are alot of people in the comments that dont know what they are talking about. Coins tone based on the conditions of how they are stored. Alot of morgan dollars were left in bags and began toning in them, there were also alot in envelopes and boxes etc. When it happened it was all by mistake and alot of people didnt like it. Alot of Peace dollars were not stored this way which helped prevent toning since it wasnt popular. All of this is to say that this method is natural. Simply doing it on purpose because were learned from the past doesnt make it unnatural. Furthermore NGC and PCGS WILL straight grade coins that are toned like this and that is whats important. Dont believe me?, try it.
you have chocolate pennies now, acetone and a Q-tip seems to works better on copper because it dries off quick, PCGS & NGC can’t even tell as long as you get the grime off the edges, if you don’t know what you’re doing your best to get them clean professionally if they’re collectible.
