Nato is not to my taste, at all. I've tried it with skate wing tips and in fried tofu. Sorry, nato for meo!! I've been to Japan many, many, many times over the past 35 years. I don't understand your fascination with curry. There are so many other delicious flavors to choose from. Shabu shabu is my favorite, pork tonkatsu, sashimi, table BBQ, including beef tongue. When I first went their first question was "Will you eat fish?" Yup, son of a fishermen here. "How about raw?" Sure, I've eaten raw fish before. They were elated. So many Americans won't try what we consider strange food. I told them that if they ate it first, I'd try it. I wanted to see what sauce to use. Tempora is another favorite, including vegetables. I've eaten yakkitori from street vendors. I've eaten at yatai and izakaya. I love izakaya, so many choices and late hours. I do miss the language barrier sometimes. It's fun walking into a small place that the smell brought you into only to find no pictures and no plastic dishes in the window. Tell them some things you like and have them feed you. They watch your expressions as you take the first bite. Smile and say OISHI, and they're elated. I also like basashi and have ordered it alone. Man, do they look perplexed at that order! So funny.

Das Essen sieht immer so gut aus😀Auch in den Gasthäusern,die vielen Gänge.In Deutschland ist man keine und so etwas.Es gibt auch viel mehr Gemüsse ,vieles kennen wir nicht, auch bei den Meeresfrüchten und Fischarten.Die Japanische Küche ist viel abwechslungsreicher und gesünder 🎉
