I have one - not bad as an electric-assist soarer. Quite rapid through the air, doesn't slow down very well, and not desperately efficient as a thermal soarer - it is too heavy for the wing area with a 3S2200 lipo. With a smaller battery, you have to add lead to get the c of g somewhere near the recommended spot. The fat fuselage is difficult to hold, for launching. I glued a patch of sand-paper on each side, to give me some grip on the slippery plastic. I enlarged the side openings for the flap and aileron 'Y' leads, to make them easier to use, wthout needing tweezers to capture them! On it's second launch, it 'threw' a folding prop blade, and I had to buy a new pair. The blade sheered off at the folding pivot.
Subscribed ! Oh man that was beautiful. The plane is gorgeous and the country side magnificent ! You are so fortunate to have such a wonderful place to fly. I am in an area that does not have a lot of free area for launch and land. But I try to make do with what we have here. I have a small 3 meter sail plane and I would like to ask if you would be so kind to let me know the Brand and model of the video camera you used on the wing. I do a search on Google for "Mini Action Camera" and all I get is a bunch listings for GoPro and other cameras that are to big for a small glider. I would also like to use it for motion detected close-ups of birds at my feeder. So a fixed focus ring that I could gently remove the spot of glue that locks the focus ring, essentially making it a free focus ring wouyld be ideal. This is what I did with my old $35 "RC Wing Cam" that I had for 10 years. It recently stopped working. But they don't make them anymore, they were bought out by GoPro ! So I am looking for a: Small wing camera with, Video/Photo, motion detect activation, and ability to hack the focus ring making it an adjustable focus. Any tips or leads would be very appreciated. Thank you for the wonderful video. Thank you again. Lyle B
Wow! Such a treat to fly in such beautiful mountains! With the added lift of the thermal, were you able to use your existing speed reflex and trim settings to obtain such speeds or did you add some more down trim and/or relfex?
There is a nice landing spot 300m behind the slope with no turbulences and no stones. You just need to park the plan in the air and walk to this area, which takes 5mn.
