Hello 😉 très belle image .....comment ils étaient beaux les MIRAGE 2000C RDI. ( BA . ORANGE ) LE 2000D reste redoutable en base altitude.. 👏 les z'ailes du haut doubs
1:31 I wonder how difficult it was to fly these in in formation in different configurations, especially with the one configured for high speed flight on the inside of the turn? I do like how when the wings are swept, it still retains the basic planform of the Su-7 that it evolved from. Great footage captured of an endangered species before they are gone from the skies forever. (IIRC, Poland is now the only country still flying it. Hopefully when they finally do get retired someone can get one or two over to the U.S. as civil registered jets for airshow duty!) I would like to see more footage of behind the scenes maintenance like gun loading, (a very brief clip was shown here) landing gear retraction tests (The main landing gear on the Fitter is intriguing, it seems to retract into a space smaller than it should fit in!) and engine removal. (I surmise the entire rear fuselage is removed to extract the engine like most other early jet fighters.) I's also like to see footage of the jets with no music, just the raw sound of the planes. What amazes me about every plane in this video is that they still look brand new! You can tell that they are well looked after as a classic jet should be!
When it came on line in the early 1980s, the legendary Mirage 2000 was quite advanced, having introduced fly-by-wire before its peer, the iconic F-16. After all these years, the more modern variants (Mirage 2000-5, Mirage 2000-9, et al.) enhance the plane's inherent and alarming agility, versatility, and rugged dependability. No, the Mirage 2000 is not as "modern" as the Rafale, F-22, or Eurofighter. But the Mirage 2000 remains a tough, relentless, and nimble little beast more than capable, in the hands of a sharp pilot, of springing not a few highly unpleasant surprises upon its more contemporary inheritors.
What a fantastic video Lars...........both the sound and the visuals.......the Mirage 2000 is magnificent and an immensely under-rated mount.........will eat the F16, especially at higher altitudes.
I was in the NAvy, stationed onboard the Lexington and we launched about a bizzilion of these dudes, back in the day. The F/A-18 was new at that time and it got all the attention, but I just loved the A-6. It was perfection, pure and simple.
