Forever Winter is actually about a Taylor's friend Jeff Lang who committed suicide after suffering from drug overdose and mental health illness. He died two weeks after Speak Now came out and taylor dedicated the award she won for the album to him saying she sang the song at his friend's funeral day before BMI awards.
There's a reason this song sounds like it belongs in a rom com. It's because Taylor and Travis are literally like a movie. The top famous musician and the american football star fall in love.
Im trying to watch your videos, but you guys are all about screaming 😢 my headache is already unbearable right now and its been 5 minutes only. Sorry guys, unsubscribe :(
I think that Post’s verse is from the partner’s (Matty) perspective who she once had a relationship with that lasted a fortnight, and now he’s imagining her escaping her husband to Florida, like she did after the news of her and Joe broke, and him imagining calling her and rekindling that relationship.
I feel like there's a little too much overindexing on the sexual aspect of this song, which is obivously there. But for example, the line "What if he writes mine on my upper thigh" is more than just a sexual claiming. I think she's wondering in general, what if he's only made this commitment to me only in my imagination. For context, the upper thigh is where the wedding girdle would go. And later on, she sings "Why does it feel like a vow we'll both uphold somehow." The word vow to me means more than a sexual claiming. And this would also jive with other references she makes to marriage in other songs on TTPD.
The lyric "Throwing my life to the wolves, Or the ocean rocks" I didn't interpret it as thinking dark and potentially suicidal thoughts. Instead, I think she was thinking should I bring this relationship into the public, and throw my life to the wolves in the media, just waiting to tear me apart. The theme of being hounded by the media is further echoed in songs like "Who's Afraid of LIttle Old Me", where she sings about all the media pundits that are just out there to get her and hurt her. The mention of wolves also makes me think about "I Know Places" where she talks about knowing where to hide from the hunters and their foxes. Later on in the song, she mentions about being haunted by him, and that reminds me of "Haunted" from SN, where she sings about walking a fragile line. And if there ever was a fragile line to be walked, her relationship with HM is definitely that.
You already know is a phrase Travis uses all the time. It’s so sweet that she literally used phrases he uses: you already know, look at you, full throttle. He practically wrote the song 😂
I’m literally crying watching your beautiful friendship reacting to True Blue. I don’t have my person who gets “the whole me” (probably why I’m watching reaction videos on RU-vid because you are my people). You are so lucky to have each other! ❤️
This could also apply to someone who might have been told that they aren’t able to have children? So it’s sort of similar to a miscarriage but maybe just infertility? Idk.
I’m laughing so hard right now because both songs that you mentioned that you listened to the least, or fathomed the least (How To Disappear & The Greatest), are the ones that I am absolutely sobbing over!
I’m a semi-new Lana fan so I have been waiting to listen to her albums with you guys. Look…………I am NOT OKAY. I don’t even know what to do with myself. What do you even mean?????????????
I love the video, but I love more that they have a Fruitcake vinyl, because it is in my opinion one of the best Christmas works ever made, because it feels different, it is not a super happy EP but a little sad
I worry about Taylor’s mental health because I feel like her confidence and identity is so wrapped up in her success, but she’s smart enough to know better.
"Like I'd be saved by a perfect kiss" gave me Love Story. Hoping for that prince charming to come and save you, hoping our love story would be like a Disney movie, a happy ever after moment. But you are on your own and you have to face it.
Taylor talking about her hair told that they reset to factory settings. This also what is about so high school a new start,a white page to write and the oblivion of the past. There is 3 layers in this song, her state of mind restarting, their love and as embarrassing as it is : teenage sex
